Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

It evolved to a love square, and progressed even slower. First half of the season was just horrible by any standard... I rarely get pissed watching anime, but every episodes made me want to punch my monitor because it was so freaking stupid. Especially Yuji, for being the most clueless character ever.

If you didn't like first season, I don't see why you would like the rest, but last episode was similar to the ending of season 1 imo.

Watching Last Exile now, saw a couple episodes of the dub a couple years ago and liked the story. 1-26 gogo!

I loved Last Exile. It's nice to watch anime that arent plagued with fanservice once in a while. Story was original enough to make it feel unique too, unlike most animes I watch nowaday.

Ep 8-9 show Margeret's past. 10 show Yuji's father and 11's give some explanation, but both are 95% pointless. 12 is useless, 13-14-15 were ok. I guess you can start at 13 if you want to skip most of the godawful part.

Like 3 EP into gundam SEED now (yes I hadn't seen it before because I wasn't really heavy into mech. anime) and like 2 EP into Heroic Age, neither are really striking me yet, so I don't know, is either worth hanging on to?

I'm really desperate for new stuff, there's nothing on TV, no movies I'm seriously interested in, and watching Gundam 00 literally the minute the sub goes up leave me waiting 6 day 23 hours and 30 minutes for the next EP.

Currently downloading RahXephon and Le Chevalier d'Eon, am I missing something? I'm not a huge fan of the 'slice of life' genre, I mean yeah Lucky Star and Haruhi were win +1 but overall, not really my #1, more into the Sci-Fi, Horror, Mecha angle now and I just can't find anything current that's good, hell I even like the Shooter types, been through Black Lagoon, Darker than BLACK, and 1-15 Gundam 00 in the past month.

Edit: also in the past month I've downloaded, watched some, then trashed D-gray man, and Rental Magica

Sci-fi and Mecha eh. my genre Dunno if you watched any of these, but since u haven't seen Seed I might as well suggest a few off the top of my head.

Fafner is not bad overall, does have a slow start up but it does have some pretty good character development overall. It's a good tie over Anime but it's nothing great. The art style, though, is just too similar to Seed which is what bugs me.

Starship Operators is pretty good, a more character driven anime than a sci-fi actiony one.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, it's second season and movie is always a good one to DL if you haven't gotten around to it. Highly complex animes but it all makes sense if you can follow along.

Sousei no Aquarion is decent, it's a good tie over but I mainly watched it cause it had a mecha in it but other than that it's alright. Nothing incredible but it has it's moments.

Infinite Ryvius is like Starship Operators, it's a more character driven anime than a sci-fi/mecha one however a lot of people like it, imo it got dragged a bit too long.

Eureka Seven, my current top Mecha Anime, it's kinda long though and could have killed off a few eps but I love it nonetheless. (Gundam 00 might top it but idk yet D: )

About 60% through RahXephon at the moment, and while it feels like Evangelion meets Macross meets generic +1 I still find it interesting, the first 12-13 EP really went smoothly, 14-17 have felt really dragging though, hopefully it picks back up.

And like EP5 of Heroic Age, which is pretty good light-hearted so far, good for inbetween windows definitely, it's just a shame, I love the war / tactical aspects of FMP, Geass, and this new Gundam, and as far as HA, RX, and other shows I'm passing the time with lately they seem to have the dragonball syndrome, I.E. "New enemy, has defeated me oh no! but if I look deep in my heart..oh look, awesome power I didn't have 5 minutes ago! /oneshotkill"

Personally what I've liked about the gundam 00 despite the daring rescue out of nowhere shit is a few times they've almost been ass-raped by human errror, shit happens, can't magicfistpunch your way through every anime.

If you read manga as well I would tell you to watch up to episode 19/20 then read the manga. Claymore anime is impressive up till that point, and in general is very good. The manga doesn't have so many DBZ moments like the anime seemed to (or at least it isn't noticable since it's uber quick).

for action I don't know why I tend to read manga, since action depends heavily on good animation and most action anime don't have that. for comedy there's loads, I like comedy anime, since the colour, music and sound often add to the overall goodness.

Doesnt really tell me which series you like So many animes of every kind in both genre.

Full Metal Panic [fumofu particularly, but watch the whole thing], Excel Saga, Gurren Laggen. Watch those if you have not.

Sayonare Zetsubou Sensei and Oh Edo Rocket are two awesome comedy imo. Both have very good art direction imo
