Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

-Bakemonogatari 5 I'm sick of the budget even for shaft show it's heavily under budget, extensional methods are so pathetic and no action as promised from first Ep -__- (Ep 6 will be last chance and dropping the series).

Never watched EF? That was low budget, even despite that Shaft still manages a good show with nice art and good characters/dialogue. Who was it that promised action? If that's the reason you're watching, then of course you're going to be disappointed. It's not about action or even being fast paced.

Anyway, next set of episodes can't come fast enough. Anxiously waiting for Umineko and Bakemonogatari 6.

Ef: A Tale of Memories right? Never seen it but on Bakemonogatari case yes I am disappointed cause as I said was I lead to believe it'll have mix of story,characters, some amazing action scenes and higher budget like Maria Holic and Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei (Series).I understand this is Shaft we talking about, they love the repeated animation and still imagine but they are done in a way they don't distract the enjoyment of the viewer unlike Bakemonogatari methods (2-3 minute of Cell phone Hello??) but I'll give credit EP5 was a huge improvement and story is shifting gears so I hope it'll be exciting.

EF had one scene for like 5 mins that was just a single frame and a count down from 100-0, and it was one of the best scenes of the series. I suppose they have to do something low budget and arty so they can fund things like Maria Holic.

I don't remember any scene that really distracted from the conversation at hand. Besides all that, they still have time for action scenes, but it just sounds to me like you have unrealistic expectations. It should be fairly obvious after an episode or 2 what to expect from a show.

When I first read that there was some expectation for action based on EP 1, I decided to rewatch it. In the beginning of EP1 there is some seasons that could make a person watching Bakemonogatari to believe that there would be some action/gore/fighting... but honestly, I like the current format

The most action I remember from EP1 was the crab god slamming the girl into the wall. Actually, was that EP1? In anycase, the pacing of the show doesn't suggest action or gore. If you haven't figured out that it's mostly about paranormal shit by EP5 and not action/fighting then you aren't paying attention.

ep1 she had all those school things hidden on her and she was slinging those around and eventually stapled araragi in the mouth lol, there was a lot more character movement in 1/2 than 3/4/5

Well, let's not confuse movement with action. I mean, how much pure, original animation do you need for two/three characters having a conversation? It's Shaft's weird style OR a still frame of a character's head and their mouth flaps moving around.

I dont mind the lack of animation, as long something is happening (ie: lot of talking).It can get annoying when nothing is going on.


I need to catch up with anime...read fma manga this week, and ignored everything else.

Bakemonogatari has managed to keep me interested, even with a 3 part episode that barely went anywhere besides that park. I assume the story follows this format the entire time? Short stories that will last a few episodes each?

So far, I think this is my second favorite anime this season, FMA being first.

I just watched Bakemono 5th episode, I can understand why someone wouldnt like the show if they wanted action, but I love it. Every episodes made me laugh multiples times (the final scene was my favorite), and the serious part are still emotional. I can't wait to see what the next arc will be like, but after reading wiki, I'm slightly worried. i hope they will manage to stay on par with the first 2 arcs.



Also watched last two Hayate episodes. I really don't know what to say about it. There is still some good part here and there, but there is so much boring cliché and fanservice inbetween the good scenes I have hard time to care. I'm starting to miss the first series, even if it wasn't following the manga. At least, it was funny most of the time.


Trying to catch up with Valkiry Chronicle (ep15 atm). That series started out well, but it could have been much better. They never managed to give life to the characters. I still enjoy it in overall, but I wish I could play the game instead.

Wish the Fall season would start now as it's so boring waiting for Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday shows so decided check some new Manga and Anime i try to avoid in past.


-Hayate no Gotoku Ok I was wrong about this show it's actually very fun with some like able character and made me read the whole English, Japanese chapter available on net as well for second season TV series.

-To-Love-Ru OVA 3 Mind you I never read beside the 6 chapters back in 2006 (never seen TV series or OVA1+2) and Let just say I was questioning all girls sexuality by the end but If you love this series you'll be satisfied with it's extreme fanserivce. I'll just continue avoiding this series until I die

-Saki TV series I can't believe some people call this "Gonzo return to It's former Glory"..... but again if you love this series then by all means watch it.

-Needless Manga already mentioned it but I wont bother with Anime cause I did enjoy the manga to an extend and story does improve but nothing major that would make me go OMFG I must the anime.

Gonzo doesn't even own Saki (they're not on the committee). I guess they didn't think it would be this successful as a show either ;o

Gonzo traded away the rights for a fixed production payment so all the money Saki makes, goes to Square Enix and none goes to Gonzo. lolgonzo

All things said, loli, yuri and all the fanservice, Saki is goddamn addicting. For me at least. Of course waiting for every new episode I already saw whole Tatsuya and Akagi.

After next episode though, they'll catch up to the manga. Let's hope they collaborated with the mangaka so they'll have the same ending (new manga chapter and new saki episode gets released within days) and not diverge from the manga...

your right they don't own the rights anymore guess cause I only check four review blog and only seen two EP were it still had Gonzo name on it.

Eh new Hayate anime follows the manga Not like they added fanservice in that's not there already.

Also, a Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works film has been confirmed, with all the voice actors reprising their role, happytime!
