Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

Ending was fine (the way Nanoha owned Quattro made it worthwhile), but I would have prefered more focused fights. I want another series, but to be focused on someone else (probably Subaru, and wtf with her getting Ginga's gauntlet but only smashing a wall down with it? Bullshit...) with cameo's from other people once in a while.

But if they add more characters that aren't antagonists then they will have shot themselves in the foot.

Yep. Every characters (and villains) felt so unimportant compared to previous series. No one is going to have decent screen time if you are doing a 12 vs 12 fight. I could understand if they brought back original character and added 1-2r, but why bring new one when it mean you put aside old one? I liked Yuno, Arf, Chrono...why couldnt they do shit in this series?

I just started watching Azumanga Daioh myself, I find it rather funny so far. Osaka = win. Any other good "comedy" anime? I think my next one will be Lucky?Star.

It was so...horrible. It's one of the 4-5 animes I gave up midway (I watched 10 episodes, and both season ending. Everything else was on fast forward). It just felt like a bad hentai movie, with boring unoriginal character and lot of fanservice.

Inukami was a much better ecchi comedy imo if you are looking for joke like this.

I loved Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh. I think Lucky Star was so much greater cause I just love Konata too much. :D

I forgot to mention, is anyong watching Kaiji? I can't seem to find episode 17 subbed. Don't know whats wrong, it usually comes out Friday/Sat if I remember correctly.

It's the opposite for me, I liked Azumanga much more because all the characters were likable and funny, and considering when it was made the anime cliche's (though present) don't annoy the ever living fuck out of me.

I liked both a lot. I dont understand why you hate LS with such passion when you like other similar anime. I know we had this discussion many time already, but you should still give the anime a shot. ;x I'm sure you would end up liking the character like everyone.

Inukami was way too corny at time, but I still liked the 2 main characters. Music was pretty good, and ending was decent. OVA was okay too, if you liked the series

If I'm really bored and have nothing else to watch I might. It's not specificallly the characters I hate (I mean, I hate the cliche's and they're in everything, but some still have cool redeeming qualities or other characters that make me like the show), but the whole premise of the show and how slow paced and ill-timed the jokes are.

It's not bandwagon hate (is that even possible for LS?), that's for sure, I gave the show a decent chance and watched it up to episode 9? Or something like that and frankly I didn't like it at all.

Triad isn't exactly the most consistent in terms of speed ;o They do a good job on it though so I don't mind waiting a few extra days.

I wasnt accusing you of bandwagon hate. I just think you didnt give it a real chance after getting annoying in the first episodes by something. Kinda like how I hated Nanoha first 9 episodes because of the lolipedo content. Took me forever to get over it and appreciate the show. Maybe you still won't like it in the end, but looking at the list of series you liked, something does not compute in my head.

Just finished watching Nanoha Strikers last night. Ending was pretty good even if 75% of the 3rd series was bullshit. I'm kinda hoping for another one, but they need to stop bringing back everyone. It's annoying to see character get stabbed through the chest, with blood and all, but they are perfectly fine 5min after

I disagree. It might give you a good idea, but there is so many series that picked up past that point I rarely consider this enough. Imo, if an anime is good enough for people to post good thing about it, it should be good enough to watch.

Frankly, I don't think there is that much difference between the first 9 episodes vs the rest in Lucky Star (it did get better, but not *that* much). If he doesn't like it after 9 eps, I don't think watching the rest will change his opinion.

you can give seto no hanayome a shot if you haven't watch it yet. It between 2-4 episodes there might be a little bore, due to other episodes that too hilarious funny as hell.

well, after reading lots of manga.. just found that, currently there way too much authors that just trying to draw it at the bottom line of porn to get the attraction from audience. I tried to read Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun manga, but just can't stand it after few chapters

Lucky Star gets trolled alot even on 2ch, its just the same as it is on english-speaking boards. Some people love it and some people hate it.

Asking for recommendations on series; I haven't got into the world of torrenting, but if something is "zomg must GET" I'll figure it out. I suppose I'm more looking for something I can go out and look for on DVD to start collecting. I really got into Gilgamesh and Ergo Proxy -- absolutely love dark, psychological thriller, fantasy/scifi stuff. The BF came home with Gantz the other day and we blazed through it, and were really disappointed with the story.

Don't go for the silly, sight-gag stuff, or RL shows. My ovaries need character development and will (under duress) admit to thriving on melodrama and unrequieted love bullshit.

I definitely don't hate Kyo-ani, that's mainly the reason I started watching LS, I have watched and like generally everything they do (FMP, Air, Kanon, Clannad, Haruhi). I mean, the animation along with art quality (style is subjective) is something I rarely see done so well.

though I can understand the hate if you're a huge huge huge fan of Key's stuff.
