I actually JUST finished Gurren Lagann. I really don't know what to think about it. It was basically the same thing happening over and over again but each time a little bit more over-the-top. While the details might have been plenty unpredictable (it was a like a compilation of some layman physics nerd's pipe-dream pet theories) the overall flow was basically set in stone from episode 2.

I suppose it had some good energy to it, but really no more than any other "Power up" type action anime.

Pretty much why I stopped watching it and the over of the top robot action didn't click for me as it's been in super robot series since forever, The ending of the series which I read was the biggest cock slap lol.

If you love Gurren Lagann that's fine since I can't deny it's the series that appeals to this generation, just not for me.

Bamboo Blade? Not sure if you've seen it but that's the show that I would compare Saki to. It's quite good too.

Well... At least... the "YAHOO" is spot on...? Oh wow does it suck... Even the English Naruto voice is deeper and that voice is still terrible... Who picked this up in the US? Viz?

Ive never watched that show, but I looked up a scene for references. . .wow, they really failed to capture the sex and age of that character for dubbing. This is why I *never* watch dubs

The only good dubs I've ever seen are Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. In my early days of Anime, I watched a few others dubbed, but even those, I'm now realizing, weren't as good as the subs. (namely Evangelion, Elfen Lied, Akira, Outlaw Star, etc.)

Durarara!! looks good. Baccano!! was excellent and that looks like it's basically the same thing.

The loli vampire thing did seem to be the only other decent show though. I might give it a shot.

Nodame Cantabile Finale is about all I'm interested in on that list. Until the season starts and a lot of people enjoy one of those other ones, I might be skipping the rest

Durarara sound awesome. Baccano was one of my favorite anime ever, original, well animated, funny, and didn't drag longer than it should.

Katanagatari's art was good enough for a try, no idea if it will be good.

For the rest, i will wait to see the review
