Personally I like a story that takes you to uncharted territory, or that makes you question the fundamental assumptions you make entering into the story itself. Eva did all that and more, and took me on a ride where I literally felt helpless and in awe, loving every minute of it. The experience was frightening, but wonderful at the same time.

My guess is a lot of people keep themselves distanced from stories for the most part, and what Eva tried to do to them was simply too much. Perhaps we're too used to stories having an ending that makes more conventional sense to us.

I think that is probably over analyzing it a little, If you had to put people into two groups in there basics forms it gets down to those who like happy endings and those who like sad endings (evangelion imo being a sad ending).

I completed Darker than Black first season earlier today. It was pretty good once it starts developping existing characters and settings. The story took a bit to pick up, but it was worth the wait.

I don't know what the 2nd season is about, but considering how perfect the first one was, I fear they are going to screw it up like Code Geass (strangely, I also marathon'd that one after 1 season and 4 episodes). Maybe I'm wrong (hopefully), but a sequel is going to feel somewhat forced.

I kinda agree. I marathoned the first season and couldn't imagine it working any other way. I liked the 2 episode per story deal they had going on, and season 2 looks like it's just a continuing story. But considering the situation they couldn't do it any other way. Still, the character's are entertaining and the story is starting to go someplace, if not slowly. I'm sure the pay off will be just as good as the 1st season.

So I wasn't sure where to put this so I figured I'd just throw it in here. For anyone who saw Macross Frontier, you have to see these clips from a concert given by May'n (Sheryl) and Megumi (Ranka). If this has been posted already in the thread and I missed it my bad, and just ignore this. But the soundtrack is just so fucking awesome had to make sure if anyone didn't a chance to listen that they did.

I wonder if shinobu thing going to play into last two episodes at all since Mayoi mentioned seeing her out alone at that time of night. And the black cat ears were win from the president lol. Had plenty of random funny moments as normal, especially hitagi joking about her voice actress xD.

I enjoyed the L&O this season w/ the crazy asian chick who acted like everyone had 'Yellow Fever'. When Cutter broke her down on the stand, she was grabbing her crotch and saying "rawr you know you want this." It was highly amusing.
