It is mindless fanservice. I don't look forward watching it when it releases; I just watch it when it airs. Now Nyan Koi! is different That I enjoy for the humor, and honestly, its probably the only original show this season that is entertaining.

Nyan Koi isn't bad. The concept was kinda intriuging at first, but like all harem comedies it'll end the same. I think a lot of "comedy" shows this season are just about making blatent references to other popular shows in hopes of making us go "oh! I've seen that show before!"

The only references in Nyan that I can think of off hand are Seto no Hanayome and Mirai Nikki. Show's good nonetheless... till Mizuno wins.

Season 2 was mostly shitty love triangle that arent going anywhere.



What I liked about the reference in season 1 is that it wasn't limited exclusively to animes. There was many games (metal gears, kirby, etc) and american show/movie. I'm not saying it was never done before, but it's not as common.

I'm Watching Spice and Wolf II at the moment...and I really hate loving this show. They managed to capture everything I want to see in a romance, and it pisses me off, because I want to hate fanservice.

The animation isnt really good, but there is something awesome and relaxing about the world (art, music, environment). I have a lot of fun watching it, even if nothing happens.

As for Spice and Wolf, the verbal exchanges and innuendo along with the subtle gesture was more arousing to me than most fanservice scenes of other series as of late.

Of course, it's hard to beat something that provides both ala Bakemonogatari.

I would take S&W over bakemonogatari any days though. Bakemonogatari is pretty fun to watch, but story lack the continuity that make me care about the characters
