The series begins in 12th century Japan and centers on Kuro, a character based loosely on the legendary Japanese swordsman Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Kuro and his servant, Benkei, meet a beautiful and mysterious woman named Kuromitsu while on the run from Kuro's elder brother, who seeks his life. Kuromitsu and Kuro fall in love, but he soon discovers that she harbors a terrible secret: she is a vampiric immortal. Following an attack by his pursuers, Kuro is badly injured and must imbibe Kuromitsu's blood in order to save his own life. Kuro is then betrayed and attacked by Benkei, who has been subverted by a shadowy organization called the Red Army, and Kuro's head is severed, which interferes with his transformation into a fully immortal being.

Blade of the Immortal

"To end his eternal suffering, he must slay one thousand enemies!" Manji, a ronin warrior of feudal Japan, has been cursed with immortality. To rid himself of this curse and end his life of misery, he must slay one thousand evil men! His quest begins when a young girl seeks his help in taking revenge on her parents' killers... and his quest won't end until the blood of a thousand has spilled!

Blade of the Immortal

I was looking for that first one, I remembered what it was about and looked like... but I couldn't remember the name for the life of me. That's not the first time I've forgotten it either. lol

and wasn't Blade of the Immortal supposed to be a pretty mediocre adaption? I haven't seen it obviously.

I thought it would have been amazing, since BotI is an amazing series, but they censored way too much of the violence

Sengoku and Soul Eater look so out of place on that list. There's also Souten Kouro... aired last season but I haven't seen it yet so I can't verify whether it is good or not.

Those should satisfy your action needs.

It's an OVA that's follows the manga better and is generally superior But the speed at which episodes come out is slooow... Actually wasn't the last one released like 2 years ago?


As for Soul Eater - it's amazing. Yes it ends in a horrible way, but just don't mind it and continue by reading the manga, actually just read it from the beginning because it's pure awesomeness also.

Aye, Hellsing Ultimate is them going back and redoing Hellsing sticking close the manga. It's being released in OVA format though, with 45-50 minute type episodes being released veeeery slooowly.

I didn't find Blade of the Blade of the Immortal bad at all but yeah wasn't the best but finding good bloody samurai shows or even non fanserivce shows is dam hard with how anime is now being run in japan but if you want epic show can't go wrong with Basilisk and Kenshin OVA

there's another fucking amazing action anime but i can't recall its name, pretty sure its 5 letters though, main character is some futuristic law keeper given this suit of armor and he goes around killing things pretty much :<. its a 5part ova type thing? k something

I didn't like Karas much. It took me forever to understand what was going on, and even more to like a character. The show was over by that time.

Animation and music were good though

Nurarihyon no Mago Manga Gets Anime Green-Lit

A poster has revealed that a television anime adaptation of Hiroshi Shiibashi's Nurarihyon no Mago manga has been green-lit. In the story, Rikuo Nura, a kid who is part human and a quarter yōkai (demon), lives in a house full of spirits along with his grandfather. Trying to escape his fate of acting like a demon, he does good deeds in order to avoid becoming one — despite his grandfather's wish to succeed him as master of the Nurari yōkai clan.

The manga has been running in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 2008, and the eighth compiled book volume will ship in Japan next month.

I think Filler content usually depends on how quickly they catch up on the Manga. You only have so many options to pursue to keep the Manga ahead. You can do constant recaps/flashbacks ala Naruto. You can do super drawn-out encounters like DBZ. You can do Filler episodes/arcs like Bleach. Or you can catch up to the Manga then split off into original material like the first Full Metal Alchemist.

This is generally why I prefer short series over continuous ones (though I still somehow got sucked into Naruto and Bleach). Even if it's based off of a Manga, if the story is already complete, then you aren't likely to have a problem with doing both at the same time, even if the Anime outpaces the Manga cause they're going the same direction anyway and you don't have to make up anything as you go along.

I would prefer if they do it in seasons increment, but seeing how Nurarihyon no Mago is a Shonen Jump series, I really, really fucking doubt that'll ever happen.

I really want it to be good, since the series is about the only thing on shounen jump that I look forward to reading every week (which unfortunately, either it's unpopular in the scanlation or the style makes raw cleaning a nightmare, causes it to come out like 1 week later compared to other sj series) But looking at SJ series' track record, it'd more likely be a rage worthy material.
