Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

Is there anything more to the story, like manga wise or maybe a little extra episode? I am itching for more information on how it turned out after that cliffhanger of an ending.

The novels and anime ended at the same time, and the animators were given a good idea how the writer was going to end it from her own mouth.

Both endings are pretty similar, some minor details like Taiga wasn't gone to her mothers for a whole year (came back before graduation) and there was a bit more at the end with the two walking home and Ryuji thinking to himself how happy he is and that he wants to spend the future with Taiga.

Not sure if Baka-Tsuki will ever finish translating the novels, it's been stuck at 8 since the show ended.

Paranoia Agent/Paprika (yeah, it's a movie, but still)? You'll either love it or hate it, but it fits what you're looking for. Can't think of anything better, oh, maybe Ghost in a Shell.

Wow I feel like I just watched 12 episodes of Railgun only to pseudo enjoy the last like 10 minutes with the final fight scene. What is that garbage, what a disappointment of a series, almost no action and the characters were very cliche. Don't see what the fuss is about, did I miss something?

Kowarekake no Orgol

Akibablog posted an article regarding the upcoming and little-known OVA by famous moe/loli doujin circle POP “Electromagneticwave” (Moetan), directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Moetan, Zettai Karen Children, Hayate The Combat Butler): Kowarekake no Orgel (Half-Broken Music Box). It’s an adaptation from an Electromagneticwave doujinshi and, being a POP series, it is, of course, moe-based and features a cute loli lead character. I haven’t found out much about the plot other than the fact that it’s set in the near-future, the girl is an android, and it “centers on a musician who goes to one unsuccessful audition after another. One day, he meets a mysterious girl who ends up living with him.” The preview that is posted along with the article shows quite clearly that it is a romance/drama story designed with appeal for moe fans. It’s far removed from the ecchi-style loli of moetan, aiming for a more cute and even melancholic tone. This OVA episode has been in the works for a very long time. Similar to how a preview DVD was released for the Black Rock Shooter anime, a preview was released at last winter comiket (C75). Almost a year later, we’re finally on the verge of release! To celebrate an event was held in Akihabara store, ToranoAna, attended by the director, Keiichiro Kawaguchi, who answered questions and talked about the story. A book was also released, with information, sketches and full-colour artworks by POP. I admit that POP is one of my favourite otaku artists and I would really love to see this book, and REALLY REALLY love to obtain a copy! His drawings are so soft and cute – it really incites moe feelings! A bunch of photographs preview the book and it looks great (even though a number of the artworks were megami posters over the last year). AkibaBlog was also kind enough to post a preview, which I recommend checking out if the involvement of POP wasn’t enough to convince you of this anime’s worth. The animation quality looks really high, with heaps of detail, great character designs and plenty of fluid movement. I noticed that the background art looks especially amazing!

Weird I didn't feel much hate to this and only 30 minutes which a plus, since it'll be over before it starts.

It's a spin off of the Index series, which kinda important to watch before this but I say skip them all together and focus on another series, since it didn't click for you, unless you want to check Index and have a better understanding.

If you still looking for more Toradora check the -Tan series, they are joke anime shorts by the staff. if you can't find them I'll link them later.

Definitely post anything that could be like Toradora, I really enjoyed it but if it's any more heart wrenching than Toradora was I don't know if I can handle it. I always feel so sad after watching anime like that.

Anyone seen Bakemonogatari? It's what I'm watching next. I feel like such an anime nerd but I'm bored and need something to occupy my time. Also taking more recommendations as to what I should watch next because I'm caught up on pretty much everything now (Darker than Black, Toradora and Railgun) and these 13 episodes of Bakemonogatari are all I have left downloaded.

Is Haruhi anything like School Rumble/Toradora? I remember people going nuts over it on these boards awhile back but I never checked it out. That and Great Teacher Onizuka (something like that) are two anime I have had recommended to me but haven't gotten around to. Any opinions on either of them?

Bakemonogatari has good dialogue, is somwhat funny at time, but I never got attached to the character. It's not emotional at all if it's what you're looking for.

Haruhi is decent I guess. You would probably like it.

bakemonogatari is like...iunno, its style is pretty much the embodiment of the SHAFT studio, but I can't think of anything to compare to the plot. But it's by far my favorite series last season.

As far as romance drama goes, Kimi ni Todoke is pretty good. Spice and Wolf 1st and 2nd season is also a pretty good watch

Haruhi is like...

I'd say just watch episode 2 and see if you like it (or 1 if you get the DVD version)

If you load up the first episode and it says "The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru" go to the next one, watch it later. If you want a good romance/comedy series, I'd recommend Ah My Goddess.

I guess I'll download Spice and Wolf, I was afraid after many people mentioned it with praise because I was originally turned off by the image I saw on animelist which was a catgirl. I was worried I wouldn't like it so I just wanted to avoid the whole catgirl thing. Not my style but hey, I'll give it a shot I guess, going to download all 13 episodes now.

Can't find episode 7 for Spice and Wolf, apparently it was only on DVDs I guess it's not important then? Kind of stupid that they left an episode out entirely?

Oh yea, what was the deal with the kid who blocked everything with his right hand in Railgun. I totally forgot about him, they brought him up like he was going to be important but he was totally absent during the ending. Bad writing or what?

He's the main character of the other series.

Hm, I'll have to check it out then because he was very interesting. One of the main things I didn't like about Railgun was the girl-centric shit, Railgun user was cool but the other characters blew and didn't even have abilities, Uihara or whatever was supposed to even be Level 1 but we never saw her ability.
