Yeah, Touma is the main character of To Aru Majutsu no Index, which Railgun was a spin off from.

Though personally, they really should call the series Gakuen Toshi no Eiyuuden with the amount of characters going in and out and actually having arcs based around them, to the point where the namesake Index doesn't even fucking matter on half the series' arc.

It promised to be interesting, but it had such bogged down storytelling that rivals DBZ in plot progression due to the amount of narration Touma had to do on explaining practically every fucking new ability that enters the picture. But I guess JC staff is notorious with fucking that part of light novel transition, since that was also one of the reason I didn't like Shakugan no Shana (the other being main character is still a fucking useless pussy despite possessing an infinite source of energy in his body, and a big fucking sword to utilize it)

Also, The Sage of Yoitsu is a wolf, it would be wise to remember that.

The Index novels are pretty wordy, JC Staff did a pretty good job adapting them. It only gets worse later on when they start introducing even more religious cults and stuff :>

If you want a good romance/comedy series, I'd recommend Ah My Goddess.
I love Ah! My Goddess and Kikou Inoue but cmon, it's one of the biggest tease stories out there. It's been 20 years and Belldandy and Keiichi are still at the same part of the relationship.

Of all the shitty things the Fate anime did wrong, the longwinded narrative wasn't one of them. I just want action scenes to be action scenes, I couldn't stand Touma spending like 15 fucking minutes just standing there narrating when he was trying to save Index at the end of the first arc, and that just get worse with the following arcs.

JC staff just need to try harder

Really, Itou Shizuka as Kanzaki and the Last Order arc is about the only thing I love about the series.

And yeah, fuck the kindergarten level of romance development, that being said though, Belldandy will always be mai waifu

Hm, Spice and Wolf feels very slow. There is a certain charm to it, though, and I like the interaction between Lawrence and Horo; I'm just hoping it picks up soon. Gonna hop in bed and see how many I can watch before I pass out. I do have a bad feeling it's going to be a heartbreaker though, just from the OP I can already tell I'm going to be really depressed once I finish this, aren't I?

Eh, thought Spice & Wolf was pretty mediocre. The story just felt weirdly mixed between the relationship and the whole trade business. The thing it has going for it is just being different than the normal high school kids romance stories.

And Toradora has nothing on Clannad and Clannad After Story, as far as heart wrenching goes. But it's definitely a great anime.

Spice and Wolf wont keep you on the edge of your seat like certain drama, it's closer to a medieval slice of life (even if some part are very emotional). Like I said before, it's the character interactions that make it great. Lawrence and Horo are both smart, and put the average anime characters to shame, and they only get better as the show progress.

Maybe you won't enjoy it more than this, certain people need something more...colorful (no idea what word to use), but in the worst case, it should still be an original story that doesnt feel like a rehash of every others anime. .

Hearthbreaking? A little bit at time, but it's usually heartwarming/relaxing

Clannad pissed me off. i can't stand harem setting where most characters come directly from the "anime cliché" book, especially the girls. It's not horrible...but I don't know, it never did it for me. It just felt artificial.

Only anime I don't torrent are Naruto and Bleach. I don't really have infinite hard drive storage for them.

I have all of Ah! My Goddess and Great Teacher Onizuka on my computer but have no way of uploading them all anywhere since they are pretty big.

While Clannad is technically Harem, there's only like two girls with any semblance of romantic involvement and one only just gets mentioned/implied, nothing happens with it. As far as Romance/slice of life stories go, it's my favorite for sure.

I really like Clannad, even though Nagisa is the least interesting girl there and the story focuses on her, at least Tomoya is interesting and the second half (after story) is so much better.

It's only a harem in that Tomoya has a lot of choice initially, but once he chooses it focuses on that person, it's not a typical harem where he has a love interest that doesn't know he exists while he has like 20 other girls vying for attention. Though, with that said, Clannad is no where near as good as Spice and Wolf. I could watch Horo and Lawrence talk for hours.

And I'm probably the only one who hates Index, never seen Railgun, but would probably hate that too. JC Staff are good, they just have horrible taste.

Clannad After Story is 100 times better than original Clannad (and I enjoyed Clannad). Clannad was good not great, but from my point of view, After Story is one of my all time greats.

But seriously Maguspk, check out Honey and Clover ;o

Clannad is just setup for Clannad Afterstory, if you have seen one and not the other you are missing out. You'll be bawling your eyes out for the last 3 or 4 episodes. Afterstory can't be considered Harem at all and I wouldn't say Clannad is either, yeah there are alot of girls but he pretty much made his choice right away even if it takes the whole season to realize it.

I wouldn't really compare it to Spice and Wolf, they are both romance but Clannad is heavy drama and Spice and Wolf is more about the interaction/conversations between Horo and Lawrence - which ends up being really awesome since Ami Koshimizu is a very good actress. Especially some parts of the second season.

JC Staff are good, they just have horrible taste.
They are smart :> Adapting all the most popular light novel series is like money in the bank - especially the ones long enough to warrant multiple seasons.

Just finished watching bakemonogatari 1-13.. and now I want to kill myself because I didn't wait until they were done. I, need, MOAR. I love the story, and the animation(when it's actually animation) sooooo much. Tsundere, loli, yuri, loli, neko.. I don't think I can find a more perfect anime. And when the twelveth episode ended, with that ending song.. bringing everything together.. <3 I haven't felt a feeling like this since I read Onani Master Kurosawa.

I figure I'm going to have to wait until the middle of 2010 before I can finish watching it, lol. Does anybody know how the visual novel is compared to the anime. And if it, the prequel, and the sequels are worth reading? And if so, where I could get my hands on some translated versions?

I think I may actually spend money to buy the blu-rays when they're all released, assuming the subs are up to par.

Spice and Wolf was good but it was hardly a great love story, I feel like there is definitely more, will there be a second season? I'd rank Toradora over it only because Toradora managed to get me emotional. Spice and Wolf, while charming, didn't really get to me and had a fairly lackluster ending. Although wolf Horo was pretty badass. I will say though, the dialogue was very well written, and every episode I would catch myself feeling like I was watching a play. The baroque style music constantly in the background, the ambient sounds of a small village, the witty back and forth between Horo and Lawrence, it all felt like a well done play. Certainly it was unique, but I still want more, definitely.

I heard novels were pretty good, and I believe there is prequel involving Shinobu, and Koyomi, as well as two sequels that are for his two twin sisters. I haven't read them though, and no idea where to find translated versions of the twin's two arcs, but prequel can be found here, yes linking to link cause 4 links to chapters was more work <_<.
And I really really hope we see 14/15 by feb of next year ugh.

Spice and Wolf has a second season. And Spice and Wolf isn't about romance so much - which you've gathered. It's more about the journey together and how these characters relate. Horo's teasing is much more fun to watch than any kind of teasing seen before. Toradora, it was obvious that the characters would get together, but S&W has you believing that more can happen. Even though Lawrence and Horo clearly like each other, they play it cool (most of the time).
