Wow this Dance in the Vampire Bund is trying to turn people into lolicons or something?

Isn't that what 95% of anime is trying now?

Fun fact about the anime, not sure if the source is 100% true

Apparently it was the author's idea that they did a retelling instead:

When they decided to make Vampire Bund into an anime; I suggested them "you don't have to follow the manga; please do an original story" but Yoshino-san and Shinbo-san said they want to follow the manga since it's already good. I then asked them to challenge it by doing an original script but retain the manga's story as much as possible. I think we have done a good job to it, even me reading the script thinks it's interesting

All this After Story talk is making me want to finish it. I too stopped after a certain event and was like fuck this, there's no way they could do this, how could they do this. And never watched the rest of it.

Finally got to watching Dance in the Vampire Bund 1-2, really excited for it. Looks like a pretty neat world and I love the VA for Mina, sounds just like Horo and she looks to be almost as interesting as Horo. Can't wait to see more.

It really lacks the overall darkness of the manga...but I guess I'll have to follow it a bit more before making the final decision.

I know the manga is also kinda heavy on the Mina fanservice, but good god, they're just rubbing it on your face on the anime.

I think this loli thing is starting to get a bit disturbing. It's getting more and more prominent in manga and anime and, well, there's nowhere to GO with it. They're creating all of this sexual tension revolving around little girls and there's just no release for it. At least, not without jail time and being ostracized from society. It isn't the type of taboo that you can really compromise on either, as it has a pretty firm base in objectivity.

Well it's sad that sexual stuff is what equals sales in japan but Vamp Bund is absolutely nothing compared to Queen's Blade and Seikon no Qwaser.

This last time I'll mention Seikon no Qwaser but here is the public link for the uncensored version which also includes the 2 minutes cut animation, since I couldn't give the private link a while back.

The manga is nothing like QB and Seikon, I can agree with that

But I somehow can't shake this feeling that the same cant be said about the anime plot.

A while back, I watched Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, and now I'm seeing another suffixed Kai and another with Rei. Are these sequels? Are they any good? I thought the first one was pretty cool, even though I had to get used to the alternate stories format.

Kai is the "answer" arc, which explains the happenings of the first series and its final conclusion. It lacks the first season's shock value, but pretty good nonetheless.

Kurorika is also the best character in the entire series.

Rei is the epilogue OVA, begin with a random side story before going into an arc with possibly the most awesome act of violence committed by a gradeschool kid.

I don't think so. When you look at the top sellers you don't really see the "sexual stuff" anywhere near the top.

Not sure what else you expected from a show where the power comes from breast milk and the hero sucks it directly from the breast.
Of course the uncensored version is going to show breast sucking.

Not sure how that is extreme sex.

I don't like having to hide my porn, and I don't want people thinking I'm a pedophile. It's one of those things that I try to distance myself from for my own good. Besides, if I jacked off to Loli and then later that day saw some girl that looked just like her, it would creep me the fuck out.
