A bit late, but I finally started watching Sora no Woto. I'm loving the show so far. The music is excellent, the art is beautiful, the setting is well done. The only aspect I was worried about was the female cast, but it's flowing a lot better than I thought with the age difference between the characters. I'm definitively going to watch this one till the end.

I wish I could say the same about Dance in the vampire bund on. Animation wasnt really good, the soundtrack didn't meet my expectation (shaft usually have great music) , and episode 2 had too much skin for me... I think it's the first time I'm going to drop a show made by shaft. I wish it was more like Tsukuyomi, and less like...this.


About to start durarara...I hope this one live up to the hype.

I intend to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya now. Who could resist after reading all of this. I'm gonna do it in order that they were aired as has been recommended, but I have to ask, what kinda Anime is this that it can be shown out of chronological order and still make sense? Is it just an episodic anime with no real central story-line, and so order doesn't matter? Does it deal with Time Travel/Altered causality?

Also, what's everyone's beef with this "Endless 8" thing? Is that a story arc? Is it inherently bad or does it just defy something from the Manga?

"Endless Eight" is a story arc about how the characters become trapped in an "endless recursion of time" for the last two weeks of their summer vacation. That is, those two weeks keep repeating over and over again in a time loop. It seems that Haruhi, for some reason, doesn't want summer to end - she has SOMETHING she still wants to do - so, inadventently, her powers cause time to continue to cycle until some factor is changed. And the characters can't seem to figure out what she wants.

The series of "Endless Eight" episodes, therefore, are literally portraying the SAME EVENTS over and over again. One episode: phone call, swimming pool, festival, cicada catching, part-time job, stargazing, going to bed without finishing homework. Next episode: phone call, swimming pool, festival, cicada catching, part-time job, stargazing, going to bed without finishing homework. Seven whole episodes so far of the SAME EVENTS.


However, it's not just a lazy rerun of the same material. The producers are actually re-animating and re-dubbing the whole thing, over and over, with subtle differences in details, angles, outfits, etc. Fans can't understand why they're putting so much effort in something that is being received so negatively, and wasting precious episodes of the new season. Some have dropped the show completely. They say it's "epic troll." Others say it's pure innovative genius.

Oh. Groundhog Day effect. Yeah, that doesn't make much sense to repeat every single detail when you could just sum it up with a character monologue or something and only animate the differences. I guess the Director must have had an Artsy moment or something.

Considering that it supposedly happened over 700 times and started to drive Yuki insane since she was the only one who remembered it all they would have done ALOT more variations on those endless eight episodes simply due to the butterfly effect which wouldnt have upset people so much.

Also I was really thinking about dropping Durarara!! til I watched 3rd episode was much better than 2nd episode, so guess I'll keep watching it since it finally had some plot, and action starting in it, and Omamori Himari was good this week[on same quality as 2nd episode].

I think we got a slight misunderstanding on what i was saying.
ep 1. first endless eight.
ep 2. yuki notices it's happened a second time and the producers get to masturbate to their artistic license.
ep 3 show the times where everyone figured out what was happening with the day progressing in clip form.( eg kyon has dejavu at the start and figured it out but it fails, kyon figures it out on the second day, Short little flashes of the SOS brigade trying to fix things
ep 4. yuki goes fuck this shit for a day and goes exploring elsewhere(or everyone else decides to try something radically different.)
ep 5, ok im running out of ideas here but base this one on the first and have it as one where everyone is going through the motions while trying to figure out what to do.
6. idk have yuki snap? They did say in the original book that yuki barely looked sane by the end of it.
7something something. Have this episode be the one where they know they cant get in trouble in the next day cause there isnt one for laughs.
8. kyon does his damned homework halfway through the episode or earlier and on towards the next story with some random exposition by the gay esper.
Sure it would have been annoying but realatively new episodes would have made it more bearable.

O.o Is it just me, or does it look like they might keep the Tohsaka sex scene in this one? I suppose it would be more plausible to have it in a Movie adaptation than a series of episodes... Damn I wish they would remake Fate with the Saber scene... I would actually pay money for that version (or even an uncensored version of the game).

lol no, it's just the PS2 scene

the general consensus of the movie so far is basically that without having played the game, you can barely make out the plot... which was expected, it's 100 minutes or so, and UBW story is too long

but the fight scenes are supposed to be flashy and amazing, so yeah

I will complete watching Dance in the Vampire Bund if only to continue hearing Mina's VA talk. I love the way she and Horo (from Spice and Wolf) sound.

But even without that I'm still enjoying the anime.
