Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

I know it is a sad and depressing ending, but I enjoy different endings every once in a while. Can't always have the main character getting the girl and living happily ever after.

I can agree that sometimes different endings are better. But the entire Gurren Lagann story is "fuck probability and expectation, we're going to make it no matter what!" so it doesn't really fit to have a sad ending. And I don't know about you guys, but the way Kamina and Kittan died, while it was sad, a big heroic ending isn't really that bad, sacrificing yourself that leads to your friends eventually winning is pretty cool. But Nia's death was still "useless" other than to give the anti-spirals an edge during the final battle. I agree with Darry (or Gimmy, whichever the boy is) that spiral power should've been used somehow. Not to rez her, but just infuse her with some to keep her alive or some shit. You know it'd be acceptable by the Gurren Lagann fans.

The main character not getting the girl and the happily ever after is for the "morally gray" stories where the main character has done or had to do "bad" stuff in his time. Simon pretty much always did the right thing but got shit for half of it anyway, he didn't deserve to get fucked out of his happy ending.

So for whatever reason I'm watching Aoi Hana and I just have to ask: Is lesbianism rampant in all all-girls schools, all-girls schools in Japan, all-girls schools in Anime or just Japan? I mean I know the anime is about a pair of lesbians, but there seems to be a lesbian all over the place and in any anime with a loooooot of girls there are lesbians all over, like in Mai Hime/Otome. I know a lot of males think lesbians are hot, but these instances of lesbians are just in concept, they're not drawn doing it or getting close to doing so, so it doesn't really fit for just being fanservice.

Like I mentioned, it's the Spiral Nemesis deal. If a Spiral being pushed himself too far in the usage of his spiral power, he'd turn into a galaxy, which would in turn start a chain reaction that triggers every other spiral being to do so. By the end of the series, Simon generated enough Spiral Energy to take out Anti Spiral, which is more or less the god of the series, so I'd imagine he's barely crossing the threshold of Spiral Nemesis.

Beside, there is that whole spiel where Nia represented innocence and purity to the a lot of the fans, and her disappearance in the wedding is more or less perfect for her character to stay untainted.

I mean come on, didn't any of you remember the shitfits the otaku threw because they found out Kannagi's Nagi wasn't a virgin?
