To Love Ru has fans? First I've heard of this.

Yes, been going for a bit now actually. Had its own thread: http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86086
The manga has been running for several years. http://www.onemanga.com/Fairy_Tail/
The DtB OVA was more satisfying than the entire second season.
Oh shit, it's out already? DtB redemption ahoy!
Just watched both Gurren Lagann movies back to back. I must say that there isn't much point in watching them if you watched the whole Anime already. Slightly more explanation of the Anti-Spirals, but a lot less character development. The Genome hacking scene was fucking hilarious, and I suppose the individual Tenga Toppa Gammen was nifty, but other than that, and shameless (but delicious) fan service toward the end, they didn't really add anything of importance, and actually took away a few of my favorite parts.
Just one man's opinion...
I can't even really form opinions about the 2nd movie just because it'd been so long since watching the anime that I was immediately thrown back into that "oh shit is ON now--NO THEY DIDN'T--YES THEY DID" frenzy of never-ending upwards scale of awesome fucking action and emotion. Pretty much everything during and after Kittan's big show were times when I could feel myself unconsciously starting to grin like crazy.
I think my favorite parts were the genome moon hack and MY-WIFE-IS-THE-BEST-IN-THE-UNIVERSE SWING. lol It was both awesome and touching, much like the entire thing.
I'll admit, there is a part of my brain that goes through that same exact reaction, but there is always another part somewhere in the back saying "So what... they scream louder and more power comes out?"
My ability to immerse into fantasy/sci-fi stories seems to be diminishing as I get older and more educated. It's a real downer.
What I would have said to the Anti-Spirals: "Every being that lives will eventually die. This is universally accepted. Why then can we not accept the death of the Universe itself as a natural thing? Who says the Universe should be etermal? Can you even call a Black Hole the end? Was the Universe as we know it not born from such a singularity in the first place? Why shouldn't that be viewed as a new beginning rather than an end?" etc etc.
This kinda shit floating around in my head makes it really hard to accept sci-fi plots- especially this particular one.
Gurren Lagann is (was) a Sunday morning kids show; the whole point is to have fun, not analyze the plot D:
I went into the movies expecting the series in shorter form with some new stuff and got exactly what I wanted.
That IS a real downer. lol Honestly I just try to recognize it as something that's supposed to be completely over the top and sometimes nonsensical so as not to spoil the fun for myself. Once they get into giant mechas spontaneously multiplying exponentially in size and badassness, it's kind of hard not to.
I understand you in that respect though and think that for some TTGL probably walks a thin line between half hour episodes of DBZ "URGGGGHHHHHHHAAAAAA" soverypowerful stuff, but I really like the balance that they strike since they try to involve encouraging dialogue during all of that and never really say "we're so badass" as opposed to a complete refusal to be defeated.
They kinda expect you to have seen the series already, I mean, it's a condensed version of the events, so the reason you can enjoy the movie so purely is because you already know what happened and how the characters developed. I watch the movies just to see if they can make it more epic with fight scenes and the like, which is exactly what they did.
I stopped trying to find logic in the show a long time ago and just enjoyed it for what it is.
i'm sure i'm not alone in this but holy fuck i can't enough of durarara!'s opening![]()
Can anyone link the DtB OVA or is it not translated yet and you guys just know Japanese?
I just put "Darker than Black OVA" in TT and got one. Assuming it's one where Hei and Yin are at kind of some beach hotel, anyway.

Downloading it but the grohotun site doesn't have an entry for any DtB OVA, maybe he hasn't written it yet? Hopefully this it is, downloading it now.
Darker than Black OVA was pretty good, definitely better than most of season 2. Makes me want more now. =/
Spoiler: show
