Kure-nai is nothing like Kodomo no Jikan :> Anyone that says so is retarded and hasn't seen it. The little girl doesn't say anything more than any other girl her age would (like, wanting to marry the main character).

The voice acting and story is awesome, I wish they would of not changed the ending from the light novels but they did it because they never intended to do more seasons so needed something with closure.

I won't even touch on Kodomo no Jikan, and what I gather, it was mostly one sided right? Sort of like the current season's Hanamaru, but with Crayon Shinchan humor on crack? LadiesVsButlers is a bit different, where the one character plugged multiple times that she is just a small 19 year old...

Kurenai is ABOUT sick twisted incest between brother (20's?) and sister to continue a family lineage, with the female being like 7 years old? And said 7 year old and 17 year old protector has a sort of love tension..



I was so naive 1 year ago lol. Buccano is some pulp fiction wanna-be, but with 3 times the characters to remember. Wolf and Spice (Spice and wolf?) is a good recommendation and worth watching. So 1/3 were good recommendations

I went with series people liked in this thread and tried to hit as many different genre as I could, so obviously, not everyone is going to like everything, especially if you only like a few genre.


And the way you make it sound, it's like it was about this mafia who still lived in the feudal era or something, and not about the good guys trying to stop them. Yes, these themes were mentioned, but it was never graphic, and they were not described as something good either.

Oh, Kurenai was a pretty decent series.

I'd like it a whole lot more if the character design is less realistic though, Murasaki looks way too much like a real little girl for me to go moe for her :/

And yeah, hated the ending.

It was an anime ending, since Brainsbase never does sequels. The novel ends with Murasaki's father telling her that she is allowed to leave the compound and go to a normal school and find her own husband when she grows up blah blah, shes not as major a character from then on.

It starts to get more action centric in the next novels, dealing more with the underground ninja families, mainly the Hozuki's which is the family that gave Shinkuro his demon horn.

Kurenai was amazing. I thought the interactions between the characters and Murasaki's relationship with Shinkuro was one of the more believeable ones. And the music/singing episode had me rolling multiple times. I'm gonna watch that shit again.

Isi mentioned The Book of Bantorra and I haven't seen it brought up too much the past few months. I've been liking it is a sort of dark action/mystery kind of thing. Last episode I watched kinda caught me off guard compared to most anime, too.

I wouldn't say "main guy" since he'd been absent a good chunk of episodes, but what got me more was the fact it was more or less "the good guy" dying not only suddenly, but without a whole lot of drama. Hamyuts just plain iced him.

I'll toss Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei on there. It's a trip. Don't expect plot or progress, it's entirely based on puns and spot humor. But it's dark, delirious, and amusing.

Things have been pretty well covered; did someone mention Samurai Champloo? If you liked Cowboy Bebop, you'll like Champloo.

If you want a slice-of-life drama, you really cannot do better than Honey & Clover. It's a very classy production. I think someone mentioned it, but in the middle of a bunch of other suggestions. It's really quite good.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (or When They Cry) is an... interesting series. A... little dark. But quite good, once you get past the concept. Very suspenseful.

Yup, both Higurashi and Umineko are pretty cool. Also Umineko VN is really nice, and fully translated (well, up to the 5th episode), sadly Higurashi only has the first ep. translated I think.

It's like they're looking back at higurashi, and tries to add more gore and supernatural element for it while completely ignoring the overall character depth and plot

Nah. but if you get into it the whole Index/RailGun series drips with Loli pairing, like Last Order+Accelerator and Misaka's Parents(She's born from Loli relationship).


I love the series but I cant defend this type of revelations or comedies like Last order sexually teasing Touma infront of Misaka, later in the series.

This was Huge in 2ch, thought it was neat even if I don't watch Hanamaru Kindergarten but since this ending had Birdy the Mighty Animation style can't complain.

and yeah that reminds me of the birdy the mighty animation.. although at first I was thinking... "wait did he mean that terrible "flash back" episode of birdy where she was young fighting some.. things that were drawn so badly I can't tell what is going on?"
