Might've just been bullshit, but an LJ community was babbling about the possibility of a second Claymore season. I can see it happening, since the anime ending was open-ended and could be easily retooled to get back on track with the manga, but I don't really think there's been enough manga content to justify another 26 episodes yet without filler.
Yeah, if they're going to do another season of Claymore they at least need to wrap up the current manga storyline, I don't really see a good place to "stop" between S1's place and the current manga.
basically i wanted to see more development in the relationship between clare and raki and also what they do after leaving the "organization" and if they attempt to overthrow it or some shit
I saw that 14 was out.
Considering what they did, if they wanted an open ending (with plans for a 2nd season), they would have followed the manga to the letter, because what happens at the end of Volume 11 is a good enough temporary ending, at least for a lot of us. Since after Volume 11 it was a long time before more was translated.
Anyway, compared to the way the manga went, the anime had a pretty conclusive ending. The fact that Claire and Priscilla met kinda throws the rest of the manga out at this point, especially if Claire's resolve was against revenge by the end of it. The reworking they would need to do to get it back on track isn't worth the effort, and I bet the animation company knows that (if not then, they certainly do now).
Note: This isn't a reply to just you, but more of a reply to the whole notion of a 2nd anime season. Basically, read the manga, you'll be better off for it, especially if you liked the anime.
I really liked this week's Durarara, plot moved a ton and Selty was really cute. Kind of weird that she's in love with Shinra though. I really want an OST, the music and the relaxed pacing really are so awesome. It's definitely really enjoyable even when they are doing things as mundane as looking for Sonohara's shoes or just talking.
Edit: Also I didn't notice until today that Square Enix is a sponsor/producer for the show?
Square Enix has a manga magazine and stuff, they sponsor a lot of shows. Pretty sure Saki is in SE's magazine.
Souleater and FMA is running on Square Enix Dengeki Gangan or some shit like that.
Square Enix actually has like 5-6 manga magazines. Saki is in Young Gangan and FMA/Soul Eater is in Shounen Gangan
SE sponsor/produce a lot of anime. And I liked last weeks episode about Shizuo more, that guy is entertaining. Though this week was great as well, and confirmed a few things I had suspected. I really love how the characters relate to everyone. Selty is how you do tsundere, folks.
