Both the anime and manga are based off Light novels. Novel volume 7 came out last month, manga is ongoing as monthly.

Negima manga covers soooooooooooooo much more than an anime ever has, and the OVA's are far more loyal to the manga. Anime tends to favor the fanservice a bit much. There's plenty in the manga, but it's a strong shonen manga, especially after chapter 75ish (which is only as far as the anime got). The OVA's have covered most of the arcs ever since it turned into a solid shonen story, which kinda sucks as I do wish there was a decent anime for it.

Oh and to clarify, there have been a long series of Negima OVA's spanning almost every arc from the end of the anime to where this current OVA covers. First OVA I saw had the end of the Festival arc on it, then the training towards this current arc and now this set of OVA's.

I don't get why she didn't just lop her head off when she had the chance? Is she unable to do so? I'm confused here.

I dunno, maybe if she thought it seemed happy, forcing it back would just make them both miserable. The little flashback with Shinra would imply she might've been thinking the two had separate lives now.

Like I said, I have no clue what the manga's up to or even how the novel panned out, so maybe the situation will do a 180 where her head gets a case of conscience hearing about various things her body's doing, and in turn goes to seek her out. Though, such might involve the boy infatuated with her doing something stupid. That seed's kind of planted when she ditched his phone, but it also could've been more about her cutting him off from his sister.

I really have no idea where the story's going at this point. When the episode along explaining Selty as a dullahan, I was feeling like they'd also be tying in other myths like Izaya being Loki, the blond dude being Hercules, and just random shit like that in an urban setting. There's still the loose end about the murderer, I think, that didn't quite seem human, either. Of course, things went a totally different way. Not really complaining, but in some ways, I kinda feel like the cast is too big.

Manga isn't far. Last chapter was Izaya vs Shizuo fight from like ep3?, this chapter showed Namie and Seiji's backstory.

The translation wasn't done well in Durarara 11 but I belive she asked her 'What is your name' and the head replied 'Selty' and then she just flipped out.

J.C.STAFF have out did themselves this whole episode was almost nothing but action from start to finish, better than the embryo battle from episode 12 by far. all the action in the opening is presented here, this made up for 11 episodes of fillers lol.

Love this, Misaka looks exactly like her novel design

My favorite series of 2009/2010 has ended, whether people agree or disagree the series is a hit for J.C.STAFF in terms of rating, DVD/BD Sales, merchandise which is shocking for a spin off to do better than main series even when railgun's second half was mainly fillers. no announcement of a second season but the fact J.C.STAFF have stated they are very happy with this IP, well be getting a second season(Index or RailGun) after Shana ends next year.

I loved Railgun's ending. A lot of the season felt like filler, I haven't read the manga though, so, all of that could have been the actual story, but I really enjoyed the episodes with action and what felt like the main story happening. I was very pleased that Saten actually did something that mattered too. She always seemed to be the most useless character in the story.

I can't wait for more Index/Railgun seasons. A lot of people may not like it, but I really enjoy the series overall. Might start reading the manga if it takes too long for more to get made.

i enjoyed index and the first half of railgun, biribiri's roomate/little sister/whatever just annoyed the fuck out of me to the point i couldn't watch it anymore

Oh so they were talking about Railgun during the opening of Durarara..

I think this is a sign that Biribiri's going to become the heroine!

I gave up on that terrible anime with the huge letdown of a finale or whatever the fuck it was when the railgun fought that giant 'blob'.

Negima's ova are pointless if you arent reading the manga. They skipped so much it's impossible to follow the story. It's basically random chapter they are animating (last 3 ova cover the beginning of the last arc)

If you didn't hate the first animes, you should do yourself a favor and read this manga. It's really good if you can get over the large amount of fanservice (first 100 chapter arent that great, but it pick up after).
