Actually, I wasn't referring to QT's movie specifically, but rather to the genre. I can't find where I read it, but I had heard that the style of writing that puts a story together from several character's (seemingly unrelated, at first) points of view, and typically not in chronological order was called a pulp fiction.
The Wiki, however, seems to attribute the term to a much broader genre of just flashy, violent, and colorful fiction present in cheap paperback books popular in the early 1900s till around the 50s. I suppose the term still fits even under that definition, but I was referring more to the style that most of Quentin Terantino's movies seem to follow (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, Sin City etc.)
Boccano fits a bit more smoothly into the category though.
In any case, I absolutely love it.
I never knew Pulp Fiction was a genre, but as you described it and before you said it, I was thinking more about Baccano! than DRRR. Either way, I was thinking that the jumps in perspective made it fit as well, especially because each view point is enjoyable and interesting because it intertwines with other stories and characters.
Yeah, I love that about Durarara. Instead of having side characters that really don't matter too much, everyone has their own story, and feel like they could even be the main characters of their own series. Definitely an anime I will be recommending to others for a long time.
Anyone watching Angel Beats? First half of the second episode was pretty funny with all the traps.. but then Yurippe's past was so depressing ><
I thought Angel Beats was really...meh, but I have my 5 episode policy, so we'll see how it works out. Shoe-horning all those game terms into the episode seemed really awkward and out of place.
Finally finished watching Dance in the Vampire Bund...pretty poor imo. The concept was intriguing and they could've done some cool things with it, but it was pretty lame overall, kinda surprised I finished it, I almost turned it off during the final episode a few times, lol.
Finished Railgun too, loved it honestly, one minor nitpick from the final episode/fight though:

Other than that plot hole I really liked the series. I really enjoy series that have smart fighters and Kuroko is pretty pro at using her ability. And I also like that I didn't have to see Misaka learn how to use each move in her arsenal, she knew her shit from the start and could kick ass the whole time. Far better than other shonen fare like Naruto (as much as I do enjoy the series) where basically he learns how to Kage Bunshin and that's his answer to everything and then it's Rasengan and that's the answer to everything. /doze. Misaka had more moves in her first or second fight than Naruto has ever done over the course of almost 500 chapters, lol.
is it just me or the funimation website one piece intro has a guy whispering "you shouldn't be watching porn....."
Starting to marathon the last half of Baka to Test; I fucking love this show lol. I'm so behind, though. Going to end up scraping this thread for worthwhile stuff to watch from last season before I ever even make it to this season.
it's kinda funny how i just fucking love baka test adaptation while hated the shit out of the bund adaptation when they're more or less the same in term of their accuracy to their original material.
The drama isn't good at all "Let’s give her the worst possible childhood", especially when it's so early in the series and I don't care about most of cast Beside TK.
best comedy series this season, The Woman Toilet had me laughing for a good while and WHAT THE FUCK Golgo 13 reference, like her virgin body can handle one thrust of his cold steel.B Gata H Kei is certainly the best sleeper show this season.
LOL

I started reading the manga and find it way more enjoyable, although there are some strange moments as you would expect from a loli vampire romance story (like a creepy shota relationship). Actually I still haven't finished the anime because of how much I despised it.

Just watched The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (there's a camrip, subbed)
Glorious film, might be the best anime film ever made; it is for me, certainly.
If not, top 3 or 5, definitely.
Everything was perfect. Music, animation, art, plot, character development.
not important but Kuroko's maximum range is 81.5m, and her mass limit is 130.7kg.(It's in Novel Volume 8 when she faces against Awaki, *another teleporter*)

I totally agree it's a wonderful movie but I think it's much better experience in the theater or when BD is released, since the animation is breathtaking, I loved when I saw Nagato blush and smile not only was that super-cute, I think my head exploded, back when i saw it in February. My only fear is the movie won't be released until K-On Season 2 DVD/BD is done with.Just watched The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (there's a camrip, subbed)

With how things work in Index though, wouldn't Kuroko's max range/mass increase over time?
If that were the case, then I would expect that the most powerful espers would be adults. Speaking of which, ARE their any adult espers? The oldest I can recall off the top of my head is the Judgment chick with the X-Ray vision.
Either espers all die off young, or these guys are the first generation. I have a vague recollection of them mentioning that esper powers reduce something... I think it may have been life-span? I think it was sometime during the Siters Arc when Misaka was talking to Touma on the bridge.
Well, you can improve your ability over time. I don't see how you can argue against that as there'd be no point to testing abilities more than once if they never changed. Misaka wasn't born a level 5, she worked at it, work has to improve you somehow. Also back during the early Judgement days whenSpoiler: show
And that doesn't necessarily mean all the powerful espers would be adults. Obviously what ability you have and natural aptitudes would have a large effect on it all. And adults could be out somewhere else, no? This is set in Academy City, it's a place for students and younger crowds, logically the ones who are no longer students would move out and go someplace else right? And the ones that don't stick around to join AntiSkill/Judgement or teach.
But I could also buy that this is the "first generation", there's a bit of a feel of that, too.
