And yeah, save from a select few characters, Tsundere is an overused character archetype that usually ruins my enjoyment out of the series, especially if the series revolved around the said character.

Only exception I can think of right of the bat is Bakemonogatari, but most would argue that Senjougahara Hitagi is on a league of her own as far as character archetype is concerned.

Tsundere can be enjoyable when done right, but it rarely is. Senjougahara is definitely the best one I've seen in recent memory, maybe Celty as well from DRRR if she counts.

I don't generally have a problem with tsunderes but a couple of them can be annoying for sure, usually when their main interaction with their love interest is hitting/punching/kicking them. Yanderes are much more interesting though.

It doesnt matter what archetype the character is, as long the writting is good, the character should be likeable.

Yeah, but sadly most series use character type as a crutch instead of the medium of their writing.

I dunno, I tend to think that apart from a few exceptions, you can't write tsundere characters properly, because the character type fucking sucks. So 9/10 times it will be written poorly. But anime with good writing (rare, I know) can get away with all character types, that I can agree with.

Like Zilong said, most animes are written around the archetype instead of the characters itself. There is no good characters in these bad animes. You can like one more than the others because of personal preference, but it doesnt make the writting any better.

In a good series, the character won't fit the artchetype perfectly, which is why it's hard to find a good 'anything', including tsundere.

Also, tsundere require a love story, and sadly, they are always poorly written animes. So yes, they are more likely to be in a bad story than other archetype that doesnt involve romance since harem comedy/drama seem to be the dominant genre nowaday.

Just watched the Haruhi movie. Really enjoyed it, almost makes up for Endless Eight, maybe it does, since the rest of S2 was awesome too.

Well, tsunderes aside, I started watching Baka to Test, shits pretty good. Made me laugh, which is all I can ask for. Weird setting, what is it with Japan and elitism?

Arakawa Under the Bridge is weird as hell, but keeping my attention for now. A... comedy I guess? The main character is voiced by the guy that does the teacher in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, which is a bit offputting. Some of the humor reminds me of that show, too. Same team, maybe.

I don't think I fully understand the new Evangelion numbering system. 1.01 was the remake of the first batch of episodes, 1.1 was the special edition DVD with extras or something? What the hell is 2.2? Was there a 2.01 or 2.1 or anything?

1.1 is BD version with some added scene...though I don't think it's even 2-3 mins worth.

I'm guessing they're just naming it by 2.0 as the original movie version, and any releases for DVD/BR as the 2.X

Baka to Test is the SHAFT-est anime of the season, which is hilarious since it's not even a SHAFT production (the director however, is a guy that does a lot of SHAFT series), and just speak volume on how bass ackward Bund is.

The show reminded me of Seto No Hanayome more than any other series. Same kind of randomness, and retarded character.
