Disappearance of Haruhi movie was amazing. It did feel a little slow at certain parts, and they probably could have made it a little shorter, but I still enjoyed it greatly overall. I can't wait for it to come out on dvd/bd to watch it again in better quality. Highly recommend it to anyone that likes the series unless you really can't stand camrips (it was really annoying and blurry at times =/ ).
I finally got around to watching Code Geass. Wow, I feel like I was living under a rock skipping over this one for so long. Still not finished, just 3 more to go, but it feels like a more awesome Death Note + Linebarrel hybrid. Really like the cliff hanging at the end of each episode. Do not like how Euphy went out like that. And why do people like C.C.? Where is the appeal?
Don't you want a cute girl to sleep in your room and order pizza hut?
Wait til you hit season 2!
I don't know, I never liked her much either. She's smart, but that's about all I could see that was good about her. I found Shirley much more likeable.
(for that matter I didn't really like Nunally either, she has all the personality of a cardboard box).
I want the next Katanagatari to come out already... T_T
You be quiet, C.C. is awesome. She'd have my vote if I needed a confidant in my quest to take over the world, etc~
People like C.C. because Yukana is awesome!
Freeza sliced himself in half today. I forgot how epic the ending of Namek saga was. They are almost off Namek, can't wait for android/cell saga.
It's been a long time since I've seen DBZ so that may be why, but was that scene where he cuts himself in half always so quick paced? It seemed like they were just trying to get it out of the way in DBK.
Just started Katanagatari, seems pretty good so far. Story doesn't really seem too complicated (seems like one "sword holder" an episode, if there are only going to be 12 episodes), but, I like the characters and artwork. Waiting a month for each new episode will be slightly annoying, but oh well, plenty of other anime and manga to follow while in between episodes.
katanagatari is eeeeeeehhhh
same writer as bakemonogatari, but good god the conversations between the character makes me feel that I should be smoking a joint to get into the level of intelligence the author was trying to appeal to.
Word on UBW is that the pacing is very fast, and if you didn't already have a good idea of the story in general, or have never watched the Fate arc, you might not fully appreciate the UBW's story depth, so yah...
Not that I'm any less excited about it myself since I'm such a Fate/SN fanboy.
I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Art is good, music is good, the fight are somewhat interesting. My only grudge is the main character...his stupidity get old pretty fast, and he isn't showing any sign of character developments.
For the rest, the conversation remind me of the one in xxxholic....lot of talk that make no sense, but it's interesting nonetheless.
I used to be such a fanboy (some of you may remember my old sig), but the more I got into the whole lore of the series, the dumber the entire thing really seem.
That and I couldn't find a place to discuss shit without having any discussion degrade into type moon power struggle with people making up their own shit or taking doujin material as if they're actually canon.
Love those Tsukihime vs Fate threads, I can honestly feel my brain cells being stabbed on their line of death with pinpoint precision one by one whenever I browse through them
Meh, I never really paid much attention to the Tsuikihime side of the lore. In fact, what impressed me in Fate/SN was a lot more the way the story was told than the story itself, though the story is of course fantastic to say the least.
Type Moon certainly didn't invent Fate's story telling technique, but the way it was utilized, plus the whole visual novel package, including music, simple animation and care to the text, was just so perfectly put together making it not just reading a story, but going through an experience, that itself was so very unique.
So maybe the reason I disliked the TV series was not that it was bad, but because it was an entirely different medium than the visual novel. And therefore I could not possibly get a similar experience.
To put it more specifically: although UBW was my favorite arc, I probably would not be so fond of it in the first place if that story was not preluded by the Fate arc and concluded by the Heavenly Feel arc. So I'm indeed sympathetic of the criticism the movie has received so far. I myself actually don't even have that high of an expectation of it now. Gonna watch it just as a fan service movie, much like what Advent Children was to FF7.
oh god I love that, especially the cult gatherings and all of episode 5, especially the part where they decide to check all floors at once during their event (shouldn't be spoiler-y) but holy fuck it's hilarious.
lol, that's the best way to explain how I felt with katana, still need to catchup
your cup is still half empty, and it's probably filled with poison
fucking lol@ juvia vs. gray in fairy tail 25, shit had me rolling
