I recommend Abenaoshi Mahou Shoutengai for anyone who just wants a crazy totally random anime. I'm absolutely loving it and it reminds me a lot of FLCL. I'm pretty sure Gainax had the same animators.

Unless the characters grow on you, the remaining 18 episodes are more of the same. It doesn't really get better or worse...

I wanted to complete both series before posting any complaints, since my initial impression was a lot harsher (it would have been similar to Sylvrdragon post 2-3 weeks ago anyway). Strangely, the story didn't get any better, but the rage did disappear somewhere along the way (when they introduced misaka properly? After touma lost his memories? I don't know). Once the rage was gone, watching the rest was just a matter of time.

I noticed the lenght of explanation early, but I didn't really care about it. I've seen worse in other shonen, and considering there isn't many big fights, it wasn't a huge issue. I agree that scenes was a bit ridiculous with all the talking and slow motion, but the few fights are well animated imo, and interesting to watch most of the time. Not really why I watch anime thought. I would rather get a good plot with no fight, than lame plot with well animated fight.

I loved it as well. The beggining was a bit weird, but once you become familiar with the setting, it get really interesting. I was recommending it to people many years ago, but since it's been so long since I watched it, I have hard time separating nostalgia from quality.

FLCL is probably the best comparison, but I loved this one a lot more. While FLCL tried to be a huge mindfuck, this one actually follow a more conventional story, and because of this, the character grew on me a lot more.

Index isn't a great animation. The story is all over the place with poor explanations. I do, however, like how Touma hides his amnesia, which was a unique twist.

Railgun was a lot slower paced and hardly interacted with the Index story or arcs. I was hoping it would show more of the sister's arc. Railgun's saving grace is Kuroko's behavior around Misaka. That shit is fucking hilarious

Also, the Freeza Arc is finished in Dragon Ball Kai. Next will be Freeza's arrival to Earth with his father and Trunks should show up right after =)

Yeah, I honestly loved Kuroko. I'm not a huge yuri fan and I thought I was going to hate her based on reviews I'd seen of Railgun (part of the reason I didn't watch it for a while) but she made sense to me, lol. So I was perfectly fine with how she acted around Misaka and thought it was awesome.

    Spoiler: show

If you want to know for Misaka's case their relationship does develop(they go on date"long story* and even share they're phone numbers), in fact in Novel 16 she finally realizes she in love with Touma, and blushes uncontrollably. in Novel 20 she hijacks a jet just to head to were Touma is just cause she's worried about him without a care about her friends or mother lol.

I'd like to mention Index and Misaka aren't only ones in love with Touma.

So like, do the people inside the fansubbing community want to give us the scoop on why Eclipse is done?

He has to get a job in order to afford to move to Japan is basically the reason. It's a bit more complicated than that but it's not something that should get posted all over the internet.

Eclipse will be finishing FMA and BSS will be finishing Durarara!!, but all of Eclipse's other stuff is probably dropped.

I'm sure these two arent the only one, but I can't imagine that any girls whose name isnt in the series title has any chance.

Kinda lame it took 20 chapters before there was any progress, and I bet it's still some sort of one sided thing like always. Oh well, didnt really expect anything else.

Pretty sure at least Kanzaki and Himegami hold some feelings to Touma too.

At least in an action setting harem makes a bit of sense. People flock around the heroes and such. Harem doesn't make much sense in your general school setting if it's just some random guy, especially if it's some random guy delinquent or just a guy with normal/subpar grades.

I'm pretty sure it's a fairly normal reaction to have feelings for the person who saved your life and Touma gets to save a bunch of lives.

As well, I only have a problem with slow-moving relationships if the series is ABOUT the relationship/romance. Index obviously isn't a romance story and the setting doesn't really allow for a happy dating scene, at least from the summaries of the novels I've seen. There are lots of crushes you get in middle/high school that you never do anything about, that's the age of the characters, so I think it fits to not have the romance move quickly or anything.

That doesn't sound like much drama. Still sucks they are going though.

Slow progress is never fine. If you don't want to fit in a love story in your plot, don't make your characters blush every time they meet someone they like, don't make the female act like a tsunderer or a jealous girls, and don't make your hero encounter female who all fall for him...

Girls who are saved by the hero and fall in love with him is fine, the hero not trying to get in anyone pants is stupid.

Unlike what most males claim, not every guy believes the goal in life is to have sex. It's quite possible for a hero to believe he has more on his plate than he can chew already so he doesn't have time for a girl. Or maybe he believes he doesn't deserve a girl. Or maybe he just doesn't get that he has the option. It's a fairly common occurrence for the latter there and I don't mean just in anime (an example I can think of atm is in the movie Fanboys, about Star Wars geeks and Kristin Bell liking some guy that had no idea until the hooker told him).

Just because you have one character that may not be interested in the love story doesn't mean all the characters should be ignorant to the situations and feelings involved. It actually would make less sense for there to be no one showing obvious signs of feelings for others in the entire storyline.

If the character is conscious of his situation and choose not to act, it wouldn't be hard to have an inner monologue explaining his reasoning. Light in death note made it clear it wasn't his priority. Negi also explained why he couldn't accept Nodoka, but it's not really the case here. They just let the tension unresolved, and it's annoying. I'm glad to hear it progressed in chapter 20...but it's a bit late considering how they are acting toward each other in the first few chapters. How could they not have a single serious talk before this, considering what they went through?

I've no issue with character who can justify their behavior, but I don't want to twist common sense every times to accept that it could works this way.

Well shit, I just downloaded episodes 1-13 of some torrent. I just got done watching the first episode and it didn't make much sense to me, maybe that's because it wasn't season one...doing some research now.

    In order, it's:
    Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei
    Goku Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei
    Zan Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei

Character are introduced in the first season, and there is many recurring jokes, but the order doesn't matter that much after the introduction. Most of the show is a critics/satire of the japanese society, it doesnt have any story. It's still a good idea to start with the first episode thought.
