Yeah trying to find a torrent for the first season now, also I think Zoku goes in there between the first season and Goku, at least according to MyAnimeList.

Apparently there is like a big deal about censoring too so I'm trying to find a DVD version. I can't find either though, you'd think it'd be easy to find a batch of the 12 or 13 episodes or whatever, but I keep getting stuff for Zan and not the first season. ><

Edit: Finally found this... http://blinx01.wordpress.com/?s=Sayo...etsubou+Sensei but it's 18 GB, ugh lol...

I dont remember any censoring aside copy righted stuff and some fanservice (but it could have been done on purpose)... I wouldn't worry about it really.

Zoku were both episode that came with the first dvd afaik. They were standard episode, and not the best imo.

Or maybe he just doesn't get that he has the option. It's a fairly common occurrence for the latter there and I don't mean just in anime (an example I can think of atm is in the movie Fanboys, about Star Wars geeks and Kristin Bell liking some guy that had no idea until the hooker told him).

Just because you have one character that may not be interested in the love story doesn't mean all the characters should be ignorant to the situations and feelings involved. It actually would make less sense for there to be no one showing obvious signs of feelings for others in the entire storyline.
I couldn't disagree more. Men are genetically programmed to feel strong desires to spread their genes as far and wide as possible. It's something of an evolutionary necessity. We live to reproduce. The only reason any men vary from this formula is that, very recently (in terms of evolution), we humans have developed a more complex cost/benefit ratio analyzer in our brains. This feature basically allows us to override our instincts on occasion. The hardware for this feature is still a bit new and buggy though, and sometimes wires get crossed and you might get some men that legitimately don't want sex, but I assure you they are the exception rather than the rule.

The only objective "meaning of life" is to replicate and evolve (AKA, have sex and ensure the survival of your offspring). So yeah, a character that never makes a move on a worthy and ready candidate is pretty fucking weird. The insistence of abstinence as a virtue in pure indoctrination.

Edit: I may have misread the context of your post. I suppose you could make an argument for missed opportunity and more pressing matters at hand, but these occurrences aren't nearly as common as popular media would have us believe. You can't draw on anime and movies for examples of what's normal. After all, what makes the stories interesting is that they're NOT normal.

I'm pretty sure any situation which causes a man to believe he's serving the species as a whole and saving many lives can trigger the cost/benefit ratio analyzer feature. I'm pretty sure a "hero complex", which I think it's fair to say Touma has a bit of, is capable of triggering the cost/benefit thing and rewiring his objectives in life.

Edit: And I'm specifically referring to Touma when I'm making these statements about men and their objectives, not about everyone. I mean, there are plenty of varied situations which can cause someone to wish for something more than sex, but I meant that in a lot of anime you have the hero characters who would fit into a classification of men who would put protecting their people/species over replicating their genes.

Working Ep4 was an absolute blast to watch, but I wish they didn't cut the part were Inami’s first met Takanashi's sister while heading back home and Inami’s crush on Takanashi going too fast for my taste, but hilarious episode in end.

If it was the case, why do we see him blush? Why is he constantly talking about his feeling with everyone when they fight, but when he is with Misaka, the conversation never go anywhere? Even Misaka pointed that he is only acting "cool" in front of her, and that's what piss her off so much. To me, he doesnt look like a hero who decided to keep woman out of his life, he is simply suffering from the love triangle syndrome that plague most animes. The author doesn't want to make any progress because it makes everything more complicated.

I'm not asking for a complex love story, I simply want the story to address the human aspect of the character. In FMA, the way Ed's and Winry's feeling evolve was more than enough for me, even if they aren't together. In Gurren Laggan, Yoko/Kamina/Simon lasted a few minutes, but it dealt with the issue nonetheless. In Death Note or Gode Geass, Light and Lelouch made their motive clear to the viewer. In Trigun, Vash addressed the reason why he doesn't get close to people when it was becomming an issue. It's not the reason why I enjoyed these series, but it's generally a consequence of good writting.

i really fucking enjoy the staple shows this season like working!, ichiban ushiro daimaou, b gata h kei, and kaichou wa maid sama. heroman is cool but a bit too power rangers for me to fucking love. fairy tail is fucking epic, i'm not sure how a show with such a childish start took so much of a hold on me but its definetely one of the better shows i've watched. starting to fall behind in drrr after the dollars episode. dragon ball kai finally off freeza arc and reached the point where i stopped religiously watching the english dubs on the wb when i was a kid. shaft was really starting to get to me in dance of the vampire bund, i liked the animation during bakemonogatari but bund's lack of action scenes started to get under my skin a bitk, arakawa is kinda bringing back my respect for them on arakawa. angel beats is meh. sorry this is probably shit to read but i felt like summing up the recent season/seasons in my own way D:

B Gata H Kei is the only thing I enjoy this season, though I haven't watched Arakawa yet, but so far everything else I've watched is shit. Oh, haven't watched Working! yet, but fortunately I do not have high hopes for anything this season.

    huh

    http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...n-2011-without
    -fan-support

Eric P. Sherman, President and CEO of the anime dubbing company Bang Zoom! Entertainment, has posted an editorial on the AnimeTV blog on Saturday, urging fans to buy anime instead of watching it via fan-subbed videos. In the "Anime - R.I.P." editorial, Sherman wrote that if fans do not support anime by buying it legally, "I can guarantee you that this time next year, Bang Zoom won't be bringing you anymore English language versions of it."

Sherman added in his editorial, "If people don't resist the urge to get their fix illegally, the entire industry is about to fizzle out." Sherman cited the demises of Geneon Entertainment USA, Central Park Media, and ADV Films, as well as the January 2009 layoffs at Bandai Entertainment, as past examples. In a boldfaced statement in the editorial, Sherman wrote that "anime is going to die."

Sherman also wrote about the rise of streaming content online, but added that "so far, there are no successful ways to monetize online entertainment. Not so that creators can afford to produce and distribute quality content."

Hakuouki is looking pretty decent. I'll admit it's a bit slow paced, but I think that may be intentional. I don't think this is going to be a short anime. B Gata H Kei is pretty funny, but I think I'm getting bored with it already. I intend to watch Arakawa and possibly Angle Beats, but I wanna try to let them get ahead some more. I've got too many shows to keep track of as it is between anime and TV.

The problem that I have with anime romance stories is that they are deliberately cliche. In the typical Hero story, the protagonist getting the girl is pretty always part of the ending. He's never allowed to get the girl before "proving" himself, and only the resolution of the main arc will suffice. As such, writers are hesitant to end the "courting" process because they're afraid that viewers will take it as a sign that there's no story left to tell.

In the TV (and presumably anime) business, you don't know if you have the go ahead on a 2nd season or sequel until toward the end (unless the beginning is such a huge smashing hit). As such, they don't know where to put the "End", and so, they let the love interest hang and they escalate the conflict (new and stronger enemies each season). I hate this... I've vowed that if I ever actually write any form of media, I won't adhere to this particular formula, ever.

If they actually did a good job of dubbing most of the time I would gladly support them. But I ain't laying down money on shit, and anime is pretty overpriced anyway. I can find a whole series of a TV show cheaper than 4 episodes of anime.

Also, what's a good group for Arakawa? I've never seen any of these groups before so I dunno if any of them are good.

Seriously. Most English VAs just don't sound like they care.

I've been using Formula for Arakawa. Episode 4 is delayed for exams but the other releases have been good and pretty quick.

The problem with dubs is no one that likes anime actually enjoys dubs. Only good ones are like Cowboy Bebop and all the Miyazaki films that Disney dubs - but they actually get real actors to do it so meh.

Charging $60 dollars for 3-5 episodes that are 1-2 years after it originally aired don't help things either, but Japan is guilty of this too. Most series I'm just not going to watch more than once so can't justify buying DVDs of them. There are exceptions though - I have all the Tenchi Muyo DVDs!

Unrelated - Ichiban Ushiro Daimaou is a lot funnier/better than I thought it would be from the premise.

We had discussion about dub a few days ago. Next one should be in a few months, not now.
