I'm really not sure what the hell happened in episode 7 of Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou. This episode seems to take a total fucking left turn from the path it's been on. What is up with the ridiculous superhero shit and "Mister X?"

"Brave" was so stupid looking. =( I really hope that episode was a joke and they don't show that type of stuff again. I want more Demon Lord fighting.

So apparently the cast of K-ON! performed a live concert with them cosplaying as their characters and playing their instruments and it's coming out on DVD at the end of June...I can't wait >.>

This season has been pretty pro, last episode was possibly the funniest yet too. And it had a new song.

Which other ones? The OP/ED's from this season or the actual bands music? It's a tad different from all of it because this song was written by Tsumugi.

And the last episode was almost all about Mio so if you're a Mio fan you'll enjoy it.

K-on was such a letdown for me last season, which was weird because I love Lucky Star which is essentially the same -- bunch of girls wasting time, doing nothing, etc. Maybe it's because K-on was supposed to be about music, and so I expected them to actually play songs, but regardless, I'm with those who haven't wasted their time with season 2.

Moe isn't a factor for me when it comes to liking a character anymore. More often than not it just annoys me, but maybe I'm stuck up for wanting the characters to have at least some depth and be awesome.

I don't hate K-On, but it's obvious when they're trying to replace content with cute just to make good.

If moe wasn't the basis of the show and they just threw it in around the school life/music aspects it would probably more entertaining to watch.

Eh, not sure why you'd even be looking for major depth in a 4-koma comedy manga-based anime. It's just for cuteness/moe/laughs, don't look for more. I like the characters and within the realm of anime oddness they have decent development/depth/make sense, but I'm not watching it for some complex drama, it's just for some easy laughs.

I think people had similar issues with Lucky Star, it's just for some laughs, it's not complex, there is no deep plot going on, it's just high school girls being high school girls.

The first part wasn't directly aimed at K-On (though no doubt it falls under that bracket), I understand what it is. The second part is directed at K-On, and is one of my gripes with the show, but I like it regardless of that. You can do cute and have depth, but Mio doesn't even have a character beyond trying to induce cuteness overload heart attacks. I'm not looking for super srs drama, just something that makes them more interesting and entertaining to watch.

There are a lot of comedies that can do this. I shouldn't have to dumb or look down an anime just because of its origins.

I'm not sure what you're looking for if Mio has absolutely no depth but lots of other characters in other series do. I mean if anything, I've known characters similar to Mio irl. Smart, responsible girls that get embarrassed easily, I've met them. She's a bit special/extreme about it, but I can't say she's out there too far really. She doesn't need something special like dead parents or she's actually dead and just a ghost, etc. because she's supposed to just be an "average" girl, that's the whole thing about the show. And not many average people have amazing depth to their stories.
