Evangelion 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance was FUCKING AMAZING.

Evangelion has a knack for totally going off track into epicness in the 2nd half of it's implementation.

When Asuka piloted Eva Unit-03 -- Holy shit!
That random new girl randomly launching with Unit-02 and then going BEAST, fuck YEAH
The fights redone with all their bloody gushing goodness
The kid from the end of the series showing up near the start and calling Gendo 'father'!?
Man I'm probably forgetting stuff but that was so fucking crazy.
Oh ya, Rei was different this time around, I liked her more she felt way cooler. I don't remember her throwing a dinner party or stopping Asuka's slap or cooking for Shinji, but that could just be me having a bad memory.
Damn, credits finished... is Shinji dead? In the preview for movie 3 (I'm guessing) it showed Asuka alive, hurray, and Rei, probably another clone, but I wonder if Shinji is dead? That mysterious girl is back too. I have a feeling it'll just be fan service or some shit all females... well more fanservice, not like there wasn't plenty in this movie as well.

My main question is, who the fuck was that girl and is Asuka dead and simply 'infected' now or is she 'recovering'. God damn, I shouldn't have watched this now i have to wait like a half a century for the next one...

the end of 2.22 is basically a sped-up EoE, except this time the fifth child "remembers" and will change it.... so expect anything and everything from Q

I think at this point, Shinji probably lost his human form like in the TV series where he oversynchronized himself with the Eva.

I was under the impression that Asuka died, but they mentioned about recovering her and being infected with the angel, so she probably survived that.

Personally would have been happy with Asuka staying dead so I can see more Mari in the next movie...

haha, just a popular rumor, another rumor says the guy has been a Eva manga/anime production staffer all along

it makes sense tho, doesn't it? look at 2.22's setup: the battle scenes, the dinner invitations to everybody, and the reincarnation theory for the ending, and all the other little things, you can't tell me that's not at least a little bit influenced by re-take

I didn't watch this remake yet, but reincarnation/recurrence are already present in the symbolism they used. It's only natural if they show up in a remake.
