Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

So, after watching the 2 new Evangelion movies, I felt like re-watching the series again and then the 2 movies (Death and Rebirth/EoE) afterwards since I've never seen them. I just finished the series(with the 3-4 Director's Cut episodes since those were new to me) and now I'm wondering if I should even bother with watching Death and Rebirth before watching EoE?

The reason I ask is 'cause I heard Death and Rebirth is basically just a recap of eps1-24 and then the beginning of EoE.

You can ignore Death, Rebirth still has a liiiiitle bit of the setup for EoE.

I hope Rie Kugimiya gets to voice one of the new characters, since we have 12+ new characters*if they cover to volume 13* beside the returning ones, and yes even all the RailGun ones from Kuroko, Saten etc will be included. it's been confirmed at least the first half run will cover Volume 7-9, unknown what the second half will cover.

I have no idea what's happening there because I have not yet read the manga.. but it looks like the story progressed in the way I wanted it to.. We need to stop talking about railgun and index or else I'm going to make myself read the manga and I don't want to do that yet ._.

Touma was protecting Misaka from a magical explosion, so he hugged her to the ground, Misaka thought Touma was embracing her and was going to kiss her since their lips were like 1.3cm apart, since this all happened so suddenly with no real explaining from Touma's part, so Misaka closed her eye's "While blushing uncontrollably" accepting Touma's advance for a kiss or so she thought.

This show seems so dark now, the characters seem to be getting farther and farther away from each other. Really looking forward to how it ends though.

This series is impressing me more and more each episode. While it might seem weird to add in the shadows this late in the story, I felt they're a good device to move the story along and help everyone come to terms with why they're there. I really like how Yuri knew everything that Otonashi was doing and let him do it still, and the whole scene in the auditorium where he explained it to everyone. The story has also done a really good job of blowing away my expectations of what the next episode will hold with these twists. Best part of the episode though was during the credits. I hadn't felt too emotional till they showed Shiina with the little toy dogs but that made me go dawwwwwwwww :3.

Sidenote, was the teacher voiced by the same person who does Wrath?

Knowing that Ichiban is only going to be 12 episodes really ruined it for me -- I just couldn't appreciate ep 11.. I felt this episode was just trying to tie up just about a lot of the random storylines/loose ends. Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else feel that the series had a story, but it was so rushed that it couldn't properly develop? It was nice seeing Lily in action and Junko announce her feelings for Akuto, but at the same time, especially in Lily's case, I felt like we were wasting time. Lily just didn't have enough screen time for me to become attached to her, and I felt Junko came to terms with her feelings during the marriage interview ep/last ep. Also.. gtfo Brave, why couldn't his storyline wrap up >.> <.<;

If Ichiban was 26 episodes, I bet it would have been much better. After Brave, this series just went to complete shit. Everything is just way too rushed and is really ruining the rest of the show for me. I'm going to finish it, but I have extremely low expectations for its ending at this point.
