I really don't know the answer to that question, All I know Yutaka YAMAMOTO got fired, after most the script for Lucky Star was done. so Gatou could have been involved before this incident. if anyone knows the answer please tell.

FMP ending is kind of old news, I assume it will get animated. Someone at KyoAni said they wouldn't animate anymore FMP until the novels were finished but that was years ago. The author always had a good relationship with KyoAni though, not sure how much control he has over it.

Didn't he step down around Episode 3 of Lucky Star because he responded to some comments on 2ch and got in trouble? He went on to do Kannagi though, which was awesome. The director and producer of Fumoffu and 2nd Raid is Yasuhiro Takemoto and Yoko Hatta though - they still work at KyoAni, working on K-On!! right now. And Gatou did the Series Composition for both series so yeah.

The narrator sounds like the lesbian from Railgun and the little Red Riding Hood sounds so familiar but I can't figure out from where...

So Highscool of the dead aired, did it live to everyone's expectation?

For me it absolutely did, they showed all the good stuff you expect"boob's, zombies etc*. but what bothered me we still had censoring for an AT-X Version, and the use of stills to cut budget. Visually it's top notch as expected from Madhouse. they weren't afraid to show gore, That girl kicking the other girl down the stairs, then getting eaten alive, is more brutal than i remembered it from the manga.

The OP animation was fantastic, but I hated the song used, it sounds bad. The ending theme sounds great at least.


Overall a solid first episode, I had as much fun watching it, as I read the manga.

The reaction to Highschool of the dead, is beyond what I expected. the reception in 2ch has been very positive, and it's a show that didn't get in the top 10 of most anticipated shows a few weeks back.


I am still waiting on Cat Shit One and Shiki, before I call HOTD the best show of Summer Season, but Madhouse is on a roll this year, Hellsing Ultimate Volume 8(still dated for 2010), Black Lagoon OVA's, RedLine and their joined project with Funimation and Marvel.

I enjoyed it. though it had some problems with the mix of comedy and serious stuff. but it has a good premise and i like most of the quirky cast.The opening animation was pretty good.

The good series manage to pull it off, but yeah, high school anime annoys me to no end usually. It's a neverending source of cliché and overused material.

Oh cmon it's japan. They think women are old once they get past age 22. They cant have pantyshots of women over 22 running about can they? Plus alot of manga is geared towards middle/high school boys so it caters to a " i wish school was actually fun" fantasy they might have.

yeah high school of the dead is pretty dam awesome.. great animation, sexy girls and action well done, including the Op/ed music is great.

The person who drew the manga does porn so yes you can. His brother made the story if i remember correctly and the artist brother drew it to help out his bro. There's even panel where the girls packed up everything "needed for survival" and you see a dildo hiding in the corner if you grab a magnifying glass.

I actually thought HSOTD was a bit meh. Great artwork quality but didn't care much for anything else. Hope it gets better.

Last episode for Arakawa Under the Bridge S1 was fucking great/funny.

I can't wait for S2. I'm hoping we get to see more of the Billy character. He was pretty hilarious for the short part that he had.
