I actually thought HSOTD was a bit meh. Great artwork quality but didn't care much for anything else. Hope it gets better.

The fanservice seemed so out of place to me. I'm still going to watch it though, I need some action this season (unless I find something better). Need to read more about some other anime that are airing this season, don't know too much about most of them.

If people are expecting a plot for HOTD, just stop watching, it was never about that, it's just an animated B-Movie with the disturbing scenes, bloody action, fanservice-filled zombie apocalypse and gun porn.

The fanservice will get more extreme as it goes on, that's if Madhouse decides animate it. for example the sex orgy, the female cast fighting in their underwear and so on.

Shiki is probably the only anime with a Plot. that will air this season

I don't expect it to get better, it seems like the static kind of anime where if you've seen one episode you've seen them all. But hell, there isn't a lot going this season so might as well give it the usual 5 episodes.

Glad to see HSOTD first anime episode, I remember reading chap 1 and the part with the two girls who, promised to escape together and what happened next, glad to see it was just as messed up as it was in the manga.

Too bad the series got licensed though.

Just watched the Kurenai OVA, I missed this show. I might watch the series again. The OVA had nice animation, but the drawings felt off, maybe I haven't seen them in a while or it's just another studio/team. Either way, was happy to watch it.

edit: just watched highschool of the dead again, and it had such a nice atmosphere until the outbreak, then things kinda went downhill and slowed pace. But I did notice that the background music near the end of the episode (before the ED) sounded like House in a Heartbeat from 28 days. That was pretty cool, even if it is just my imagination.

So when I saw this chart about a week or more ago I looked for manga for the ones that interested me. HOTD, is about what you'd expect from the manga. In other words if you don't like fanservice stop watching it now it will only get worse for you.

Cat Shit One, cant' wait for that and Shi Ki looks like the only serious one this summer.
