Probably a bunch of others I can't think of offhand who get paid to do exactly that -- be that one character in different settings with different names. The Japanese just make it moe and girly.

Nic Cage hardly anyone likes, Sam Jackson I'll give you, the 80's and 90's guys are hardly relevant at all, Will Smith I disagree with completely and I haven't seen enough Robin Williams to know.

You mean like Rie Kugimiya? (Shana/Louise/Nagi/Taiga/etc) She is pretty much type casted, not like she's going to turn down work - voice actors don't get paid like actors

She also can do many more voices, just doesn't get a lot of roles for that. Al in FMA for example.

This applies to a lot of the voice actors who mainly do one voice.

There are some VAs who actually only can do ONE voice that still get a ton of work because they are very popular right now. Aki Toyosaki (Yui in K-On!) and Kana Hanazawa (Anri in Durarara, Ku-chan in Sekirei, Mikan in To-Love-Ru, Kobato, Zange in Kannagi, etc) seem to be in every anime the last year or so. The other K-on girls are getting more roles too, although we haven't heard enough from them outside K-On to put them in this category yet.

Miyuki Sawashiro is probably the most talented/best voice actress currently working. (Canaan, Celty in Durarara, Shinkuro in Kure-nai, Aoba in Kannagi, Dorm Leader in Maria-Holic) She literally has 20 different voices.

Rie Kugimiya, Ayako Kawasumi, Yui Horie, etc are still going to get more work though because people expect their voices for certain types of characters and they will always get the role if they try out for it

Edit: [gg] reformed! Took longer than I expected actually.

Good episode but I hate this teacher guy, holy shit I hope they only added him so we could enjoy watching him die very soon! Rei leaving the bus was a tad annoying, zombie apocalypse but one guy makes her leave? Did he rape her or something?

Next episode looks messed up, Rei gonna get molested

So I need some anime recommendations, lol, preferably ones that are finished or at least have decent amounts of eps. Have a lot already, mostly the recently popular ones, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann etc. Like both those. Loved FMA, Bebop, Berserk, to name a few others, so yeah, if you got any I should check out lemme know. (picked up 4tb of storage recently, so looking to get a ton of stuff, tv shows and other things too, to have a nice chunk to work through for a while)

Kind of random, but does anybody know if the people behind Bebop and Samurai Champloo have plans for an anime in the next 1-2 years? I've been dieing for more of that type of anime.

    @Qalbert:
You've probably seen most of these since they were pretty popular, but the first few that come to mind are Full Metal Panic! (1st and 3rd seasons mainly. 2nd season is basically funny short stories type stuff,) Samurai Champloo, Arakawa Under the Bridge(New. 2nd season starts in fall,) and Baccano!

Have you seen Durarara!? The novels are made by the same guy and has a very similar style in how he tells the story.

I kind of suck at explaining that type of stuff, so I'll just post MAL's synopsis.

During the late 1930s in Chicago, the transcontinental train, Flying Pussyfoot, is starting its legendary journey that will leave a trail of blood all over the country. At the same time in New York, the ambitious scientist Szilard and his unwilling aide Ennis, are looking for missing bottles of the immortality elixir. In addition, a war between the mafia groups is getting worse. On board the Advena Avis, in 1711, alchemists are about to learn the price of immortality.

Based on the award winning light novels of the same name, this anime adaptation follows several events that initially seem unrelated, both in time and place, but are part of a much bigger story - one of alchemy, survival and immortality. Merging these events together are the kindhearted would-be thieves, Isaac and Miria, connecting various people, all of them with their own hidden ambitions and agendas, and creating lifelong bonds and consequences for everyone involved.
It's only 13 episodes long (16 if you count the 3 specials that take place afterwards and kind of finish some of the stories,) so if you end up not liking it, at least you didn't spend much time on it lol. I'd say it's worth watching, though. I gave it a 10 on my MAL(I rate on how much I enjoyed an anime.)

Just gonna throw some names out and see if anything sticks:

Seirei no Moribito, Welcome to the NHK, Baka to Test to Shokanju (hilarious), Eden of the East, Hellsing/Ultimate OVAs (ongoing), Detroit Metal City (seriously watch this lol), Black Lagoon, Sengoku Basara (first season is 12 eps, second season airing now), Read or Die/RoDTV, Claymore (I hear anime isn't as good as manga)

aside from that, I'd check out some toplists like http://myanimelist.net/topanime.php , http://www.animenfo.com/statistic/top.php?type=anime or http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/

Is it explained at this point in the story in the manga or is it coming up? I don't want to spoil myself by reading the manga :S

Darker than black, Black Lagoon, Last exile, durarara and Baccano were good all around (action, story, animation). If you want romance, Toradora and Spice and Wolf are some of my favorites series. One Piece manga is also worthwhile if you feel like reading something (the anime not so much).

If you want a series that target a more general audience (not shonen, no fanservice), The girl who leapt through time (movie), Dennou Coil (24eps), Tokyo Magnitude 8 (12eps) were great imo. I would wiki them to get an idea what you're getting into though.

    [edit]
Gundam 00 and macross frontier were both pretty good imo if you want mecha show. Forgot about them

Oh yeah, Darker Than Black. Not sure how I missed that one. And since you're doing movies.. Princess Mononoke is pretty good. Spirited Away and Ponyo on a Cliff as well, although those 2 are a little more kid-ish.

If you like the Gundam series, some of my favorites(but old) are 08th MS Team, 0080: War in the Pocket, 0083: Stardust Memory. And then there's the more recent Gundam 00 S1 and S2.

    Edit:
    There's also FLCL. That's kind of a must-see.
