Kind of random, but does anybody know if the people behind Bebop and Samurai Champloo have plans for an anime in the next 1-2 years? I've been dieing for more of that type of anime.

They did one last year, Michiko to Hatchin

I'm not that into Anime (only watched a handful of series) but my boyfriend recently got me into watching Evangelion. Wow! I can't believe it has taken me this long to watch this. :D I'm kinda confused about what to watch, currently watching the original series but I hear there is a remake and 4 movies (2 already out I read).

Just finished Episode 7 (Ocean Angel) I asked him 'What are the Angels supposed to be?' I expected just to say something like 'Oh they're aliens or robots or something'. He said it was complicated and he couldn't explain in English and began in Japanese. He pretty much said;

Yeah I think he spoiled something big time so I told him not to say anymore. ^^;

Just wondering if I will get answers in the end or is it one of those interpret it for yourself kinda shows. He says he still doesn't understand it fully and that I will hate Shinji by the end. o_O Enjoying it a lot so far! :D

Kind of a yes and no. Near the end of the series, the style drastically shifts to, basically, art film, which throws a lot of people off. There are actually two more movies - Death and Rebirth, which is mostly a series recap, and End of Evangelion, which has a much more fleshed out ending compared to that of the TV series.

Either way, the series never really fully explains everything, but you certainly get enough information that you can see the basic plot. At the same time, there's a -lot- of subtle stuff to pick up on that's never stated outright.

The new movies are, in a way, a redo of the series...but they also are looking to be sort of a sequel. You know, like Groundhog Day, or the occasional Star Trek episode, where time is in a cycle. The Rebuild movies are a later iteration of the main events, with some differences.

As for not liking Shinji...yeah, you probably won't. But, that's the thing with Eva - basically all of the main characters are flawed in some way.

Madhouse is re-doing the previous episodes for BD release once those done, hopefully Ep8 will get an official release date, so far it's still has a tentative release of 2010.(the same thing happened with Black Lagoon OVA's).

I recently got Volume 5 of RailGun with the special book that includes fanartwork and a Mini RailGun Novel written by NARITA Ryohgo *The Author of Durarara and Baccano!* Yes he is a fan of Railgun+Index (What Can I say he has great taste). it's nothing of ordinary for authors to love other works like Full Metal Alchemist, is friends and reads the works of TAKAHASHI Yashichirou (Shakugan no Shana).

The most interesting story in the novel is the joke fight between Mikoto vs Gunha(Level5-Rank Number 7) Ability Attack Crash (Telekinetic Shell)

About Gunha Ability(If any is wondering he will not appear in Season 2 of Index)
-Can create a strange explosion around him that throws away people.
-Even if he was shot in the heart or pierced by an ice pick, he would just feel prickly pain and wouldn't receive serious damage.
-Can perform physical combat with twice the speed of sound

Yes, decent anime that you'll enjoy more if you read the original Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. It's a twist on it shown mainly from the prospective of the children of the royalty in the book. The show does a fantastic job at making you realize what a complete bastard Edmond (the hero in the original book) was, and just how many lives he managed to ruin while getting his revenge.

Is the 2002 movie a good reference for the story?

Good enough I suppose. Just remember the "Edmond is really your father" while an amazing little twist for the movie is not part of the real book.
