Regarding the actual episode though I was bothered that they changed Takashi's line to "It's better than someone else getting my girl". I pretty much hate Rei though nagging wench (really don't want that relationship to turn out), vastly prefer Saeko.

From my understanding the Anime Network version is heavily censored, the ATX version GG uses is still censored but not as bad. Definitely don't watch anyone using Anime Networks version.

Was black rock shooter not supposed to make a bunch of sense? Is there some manga or series i should read/watch to not be confused as hell? Fighting was above average but the over all plot confused the hell out of me....

From what I know, B★RS is based more or less on some artwork by a guy (Huke) that was paired with a video and song that Hatsune Miku sang (which added to the confusion when people thought it was Miku, not a separate character). Anywhoo, it became popular, extra characters were made, but as far as I knew, there was no real story, just art. Then this OVA was announced and everyone got really excited because the artwork is gorgeous and it looked like it could make for some really well animated fights between all the various characters. I honestly have no idea where the characters of Mato and Yomi came from, but personally would have preferred if it had just been in the alternate world with the various characters that Huke has designed. I think they tried to come up with an emotional narrative, but strayed too much from the material that attracted people to B★RS in the first place. I mean, if you download the gg version, it contains only the fights (and a bit more) and it shows that it's under 15 minutes of alternate world. Also, I think they tried too hard to keep it a mystery what was going on and so the editing ruined the flow.

Basically my take:

Mato and Yomi become friends, everything is great. When they're put in different classes and Mato starts attracting new attention, she starts drifting away from Yomi. Yomi, who has never had as close a friend as Mato, feels abandoned and those feelings drag her into the alternate world and make her Dead Master (the green-eyed girl) -- possibly she's her own persona and fused with Yomi. Mato eventually finds the phone charm on the hill, meets Black Rock Shooter, and their spirits or w/e fuse. She goes to bring Yomi back, but the Dead Master persona thinks she's a threat and they start to fight. Eventually Black Rock Shooter manages to free Yomi and return to their reality. Cut to the end, Yuu is feeling abandoned and will become Strength (the girl with the giant arm things) in the next OVA -- assuming one is made.

Since Strength was there even when Yuu wasn't emo-ing out, it seems like they are actual entities, but that doesn't explain why Dead Master disintegrated when Yomi was pulled out. The whole B★RS "franchise" has a lot (maybe 8 or so?) characters, but I'm gonna be really disappointed if all of them are essentially Mato's friends who emo out because they aren't getting enough attention..

Anyway, that's my take -- your mileage may vary~

Sheesh I thought this was a joke post a few days back, but it's real.... Lets hope this doesn't turn into a cluster fuck like Black God.

The big advantage this has than black god is the abundant of fanservice and the sexual situation between the brother and sister in the later chapters, with a lot of fighting of course.

Almost finished watching The Sacred Blacksmith, and I have to admit, it was pretty good. Some typicalness you would expect from anime, but it's nice to see something medieval-ish and fantasy. The fights are awesome and the animation/art is great, the writing can be nice at times and above all, it has magic fucking swords.

Only 12 episodes, so not like you'd waste your life watching it.
