Finally watched Kamishiru, I actually enjoyed it despite my skepticism at first.

Then again, when the damn thing was first announced to be animated, Gonzo was supposed to do it, and I saw my hope and dreams crumbled before my eyes.

The North American anime distributor Bandai Entertainment has announced at its New York Anime Festival/New York Comic Con panel on Saturday that it will release Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A wakening of the Trailblazer, as well as the first Mobile Suit Gundam television anime series on DVD with English subtitles and dubbing. It will be the first time that Bandai Entertainment has released the first Gundam series with both English and Japanese soundtracks. The 42-episode series will be released in two parts in 2011. (One episode out of the original 43-episode length was never dubbed in English, at the request of creator and director Yoshiyuki Tomino.)

Bandai Entertainment has also announced that it will release Mobile Suit Gundam UC on DVD, after releasing the first volume on Blu-ray Disc only. The company will release The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (TokiKake) on Blu-ray as well. Marketing Director Robert Napton reiterated that Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society will be released on Blu-ray.

Bandai Entertainment revealed two more members of its English dub cast for K-ON!: Ritsu will be played by Cassandra Lee, and Mugi will be played by Shelby Lindley. The series will be released on DVD and Blu-ray with standard and limited editions for both formats.

Update: More information from the panel added.

Update 2: K-ON! is being released in four parts, with a suggested retail price of US$29.98 for each part on standard DVD. Bandai Entertainment does not plan to redub the songs in English.

Going to check out Ika Musume, I love comedy anime and it looks like it's been pretty well reviewed on MAL.

Lots of new anime I'm picking up this season with manga equivalents, I really don't want to read the manga though XD

I'm actually following quite a bit of anime this season, which is nice after last season where SYD was the only thing I followed, and I didn't even enjoy it most of the time since the jokes are pretty forced to be considered funny.

Ika Musume is genuinely hilarious though, MM and Arakawa is pretty funny as well. Kamishiru adaptation was also great, Yakumo was interesting, and I'd have to at least watch an arc of the new index since Kanzaki's in it, Star Driver is too fabulous to not watch, so looks like it'll be a great season.

Star Driver is animated by Bones, so you can expect quality. It's kinda on the more fabulous side, it's like a mix of Super Robot and Magical Girl series...so it's more or less G-Gundam with high school life.

MM is a comedy series, high school life with the main character being a hardcore masochist (hence the title) and the rest of the cast having slightly fucked character traits for one reason or the other. It's hilarious though.

interestingly enough, from the general impressions the people who never played the game seem to like the movie a lot more

i guess it's just like how people who never read the Harry Potter books generally like the movies more
I'd be one of those people. All I've done so far is watch the anime series. If I had not done at least that I would have no clue what was going on, but that alone was enough. The transfer of magical energy confused me a bit because it didn't work they way I thought it did. (Was it a transfer of energy, or circuit, or wut?) I was a little sad that they didn't make the chants as long as they could have. I think the movie would have been perfect if they were allowed another extra 15 minutes to fit some more stuff in.

Overall though, I'd say it was very enjoyable and very good. I plan to play through the VN over the next couple of weeks so that I can see/understand all the small things I missed and also play through the HF thingy.

Lol, the whole Circuit/Magic Seal transfer thing was added for the anime/movie. In the game, they transfer energy through sex/semen. In other words, don't read too deeply into it.

Well, the lore is that Shirou lacks the mana capacity to be able to do all the shit Archer could on the ground that well...he was a shitty magus.

Kiritsugu never teach him sorcery, all that he knew was self learned, and he was not from a magus lineage, so his magic circuits are pretty weak and/or borderline dormant. In order for him to be able to be able to keep tracing and/or perform unlimited blade works, he would need more mana. Luckily, this situation can be remedied by another magus with sufficient mana to provide him what he lacks. In the PC version, "fluid transfer" does that, in the PS2 version, it's what was shown at the movie. But it was fucking weird that the circuit just went out when Saber disappeared since she's not related at all...and when that connection with Rin is cut, he shouldn't be able to cast the Unlimited Blade Works.

So yeah, it's one of those small things that doesn't add up when you play the game then watch the movie.
