Is the SYD thing an OVA or just anime DVD episodes with extra content? Either way I'm happy I really enjoyed SYD.
It's suppose to, it's from the same Studio.

Found this pretty amusing.
Oh wow more KajiThat stuff was... weird yet I couldn't stop watching it ^^;
I'm looking for another good Anime to marathon, but don't have anything in mind. Here's my anime list of what I've seen:

My taste in Anime is generally based completely on the Writing and Characters. I'll give any genre a chance so long as the anime itself is actually GOOD.
The Anime scene tends to move pretty fast, so I know that I've likely missed quite a few series over the years that were really good for their time, but just didn't get talked about much once newer stuff came out. I'm looking for those. Clannad was one such series. The only reason I even heard of it was because one day I decided to look back through this very thread and see what people used to talk about (and I wanted to see when I first started posting here). So if anyone else can remember some series that were worth watching but people don't really talk about anymore, please post the names so I can check em out.
I'm looking for completed anime, btw. I have about half a dozen animes that I'm currently following as they come out, and I don't know if I really wanna keep track of any more.
Toradora
Shakugan no Shana 1 et 2
at least those
Yeah that's the crux of the series, the main char and her mom are succubi who drink semen![]()
lol Gulk, I'm surprised you weren't following this already. While I'm at it, does it look like ffxiv is going to generate a lot of doujins? It's been a few years since I stopped ffxi and making biweekly visits to neko-sentai.succubus mom you say... looks like I have a new project to find while at work! O_o
Should totally marathon Naruto and One Piece. Back to back. :D I'm not really good at recommending anime tailored for people, so I'll just link you to my MAL. http://myanimelist.net/animelist/DeadgyeI'm looking for another good Anime to marathon, but don't have anything in mind. Fractale EP3 WHAAAAAAAAAT?
WTF did I just Watch?
Spoiler: show
I watch Naruto every week. I don't put in-progress Anime on my list cause it's just a pain in the ass to keep up on and I only go there a few times a year to update my list. All the ones on my list that aren't rated, I added just before I made that post.
Speaking of not updating my list... I've actually seen Gungrave (very very good anime), and I started Basilisk but kinda stalled out on it... It just felt like a Ninja Scroll ripoff with an even weaker story. I also stalled out on Needless... at the time, it just felt cheesy and cliche, but I was told later that that was the point, and that it was a parody and I stopped watching right before it started to become apparent (made it to episode 5 or 6).
I've heard of Kure-nai, and I think I had it queued up to watch at some point, but forgot about it. Was it recent? I think I remember that I was waiting for it to finish because I didn't wanna deal with cliff-hangers week to week on too many shows.
I saw some Samurai X movie that was really dark and bloody. Was that these 4 OVAs put together, or is that a different story altogether, or was the the movie a retelling of this OVA series? It didn't have the shitty animation or the annoying characters from the Rurouni Kenshin series, so I don't think it was "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Ishinshishi e no Requiem"
Edit: From the Wiki: "In 2003, Trust and Betrayal was collected into a two hour feature-length motion picture with new animated sequences and released in North America as a Director's Cut DVD."
That's probably what I saw, cause I remember it actually being quite awesome (though I don't recall any details)
Both Ninja Scroll and Basilisk is based on the same source material, with Basilisk being a more accurate adaptation of the novel.Speaking of not updating my list... Trust and Betrayal is really good, though Reflection is kinda bleh, because it's just piling up shit upon shit on the character's fate for the epilogue.
Well I don't check every single doujin that comes out, ker's been randomly keeping me posted on interesting ones though!
as for ffxiv doujins there are a few, although hard to find as usual.
a persons getting ahold of

Nifty program that you leave open and it reads your media player's info and updates your list in real-time. I've logged into mal like three times since I started using it. MALU is amazing :3

Kurenai isn't exactly recent, but it's one of my favourite anime series. So good (the ending could've been better if they stuck to the novels I think, but it was still good).

I would vouch for most 9 or 10 in my list, and quite a few 8 if you're not looking for a particular genre (this is obviously debatable). A few titles ranked high because they had epic animation/soundtrack, or its just plain nostalgic,but essentially, 10/10 means it had a very high overall quality, 9/10 mean it was original, but part of a niche, and 8/10 is stuff I'm not particularly proud to like.
If you're looking for tear jerker like Clannad, maybe you could give Honey and clover a shot. Might not be what you're looking for though, but the last part of Clannad reminded me of it. If you want some harem bullshit, then idk..I hated the first 36 episodes.
Ahh. That does explain why they're so similar... I guess it's just that Ninja Scroll was shorter, so it had to get to the point faster and I was able to actually discern the plot, whereas I must not have gotten far enough into Basilisk for any real development.
Your list does have a couple 10s that I haven't seen. I've heard about Tokyo Magnitude 8, and meant to watch it, but forgot all about it. I vaguely recall hearing about Paprika, but there wasn't a ton of discussion about it that I noticed, so it slipped under my radar. I've never heard of Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei or Xam'd, but I'll look into them. I'll bookmark your list for when I'm finished with the 10s. Of the ones that we've both seen, I'd say we rate them similarly enough that I'll likely enjoy most of what you liked.
BTW, you guys watch a lot of fucking Anime... I thought I had a decent amount under my belt, but you've both got nearly 3X as much...
Edit: There's actually about ~10 more on your list that I've seen but forgot to put on my own. The site isn't cooperating with me at the moment though, so I can't seem to update it... I'll do it later.
Edit2: Regarding the Updater. I steam a lot more anime than I download these days, so that wouldn't particularly help me ^^;;
Every season is at least 1-3 shows to add to that list. It grows very quickly.
