I need a list of good-great(preferably great, or at least highly entertaining) anime from the last... 2years. Excluding Slice of Life.
It's probably been 2 years since I saw a new anime series aside from Shiki, panty and stocking, hsotd and fma

Gintama is restarting soon, it just took a break. None of the long running shounen series are going to end until their manga end. Which may be never.

Word, starting up again in April which is fantastic. Probably my favourite comedy. And the last few chapters have been hilarious. The movie was also released on DVD in December, but the group subbing it is incredibly slow, so who knows when it'll be out =/

There have been a LOT. I'd either skim the last few pages of this thread, or go to here and pick out something that might catch your interest. It isn't really within the last 2 years like you've requested, but it's pretty accurate as to what everyone generally thinks is good.

Alternately, Ker's charts are great for picking out shows from a season/year, if he's got one up for the range you want (which he does in this case).
Looking at Spring 09 - Fall 10 right now, hmmmm...

Chronologically: Eden of the East, Bakemonogatari, Sora no Otoshimono, Durarara!!, Katanagatari, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, Cat Shit One (only a single episode, but goddamn).

I'd recommend Durarara!!, The Tatami Galaxy, Katanagatari, To Aru Majutsu no Index, and Eve no Jikan. Ika Musume, I think, is a great light-hearted comedy but it's pretty slice of life. If you want to pick up something that's still airing now, I'd recommend Star Driver (@17) and Puella Magi Madoka Magica (@4) as well.

Sora no Otoshimono or Heaven's Lost Property is one of the funniest animes i've seen in a while, reminds me of Haruhi almost. I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a slightly moe/comedy/slice of life.

So who guessed that the science girl was east maiden? It honestly surprised me, I expected club president, but that was based on the opening.

Also fuck yeah new insert song, though not as good as last two. I hate that I have to watch Star Driver now. Before I didn't really give a shit, now I look forward to it.

I had that feeling from the bus scene when the fish girl was leaving the island, with wako, the denpa girl, and the kurokami megane being on the same bus, and 3/4 of them were confirmed maiden.

But yeah, last episode explained why she could have been a maiden, be in the crux and still maintain her seal since the seal need to be broken in order, and those faction was being retarded when they attacked wako the first ep.

Still, I really wanted the buchou to be the miko, or at least have more role in the series ; ;

I had an idea after the bus scene but I knew for sure after the 14th episode. They have a conversation a lil after the 21 minute mark.

Also I like the new song better than the second song but not as much as Monochrome. But that's just my opinion.

Yumekui Merry: J.C Staff seriously need a pick better plots for their show...this setting is so overdone I can't take it seriously anymore. What's the difference between this and shakugan no Shana? A generic guy (with a super-power wanted by everone) meet an extraordinary girl, get dragged in a world of conflict that no one but a select few know...etc This is just bad. Dream world at least had a good animation (reminded me of a souleater-1), but I just can't feel any originality

Madoka: I wasn't planning to watch it, but after reading people's opinions in this thread, I decided to give it a try. I don't know what's up with shaft, but they manage to do it almost everytime. The animation is interesting so far, the music is great, and while the story is fairly standard (I know it's suposed to get darker on 3rd episode), the overall ambiance is very nice. I'm not exactly sure if I will enjoy the whole story, but so far, I want to see more (especially the darker part...light hearted stuff was just dull).

Fractale: I had high expectation for it, and I think it delivered so far. I like the animation, I like the overall concept, I like the characters...hell, there isnt a single thing about the show that annoyed me so far. If every seasons could have a show like this, i would definitively be happy.

I agree about Madoka, when it isn't being dark and twisted it isn't very interesting or fun to watch. It'll be an interesting ride, especially if it keeps getting darker.

Most shows made by Shaft have length and uninteresting scenes. It's like watching Tarantino's movies...you know half of it will be wasted with pointless dialogue and boring scenes, but it's just something you have to accept.

The exhibitor notes at the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) 2011 website revealed on Tuesday that the anime studio Gonzo is working on Last Exile ~Ginyoku no Fam~ (Last Exile -Fam, The Silver Wing-), "a new series of Last Exile [with] new story, [main] characters, and mechanical designs" for 2011.

Gonzo had worked with character designer Range Murata (Blue Submarine No. 6, Solty Rei, Shangri-La) on the original Last Exile anime series in 2003. The studio told ANN during last March's Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) that it was developing a potential Spring 2011 project that would take advantage of the new stereoscopic 3D televisions now entering the marketplace. Gonzo also showcased a stereoscopic 3D version of a Last Exile vehicle and four character design sheets for a new project in the works at the fair, although it did not specify at the time whether these materials were from the same Spring 2011 project.

Gonzo began hiring new anime production staff members such as animation runners (the production coordinator job seen in Animation Runner Kuromi), one "international production operations assistant" ("fluency in English required, Chinese is a plus"), in-between animators ("must have enthusiasm"), production desk managers, and designers last August. Then, in September, the studio sent a book cover illustrated by Murata as a complimentary gift to stockholders, and the included letter explained that the cover's illustration is the original character design for a new anime that will air this year.

Gonzo's TAF page also lists the studio's previously revealed Nyanpire The Animation project.

2011 is shaping up to be an amazing year for anime.
