Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

Well, the idea is that Madoka will become a Puella Magi sometime. We're not sure when or why but everyone is anxious to see it happen. And you know it'll be a pretty big reason considering how hard Homura works in order to prevent it from happening. Should be a fun episode when it does happen.

There is a ton of fan drawings of the characters from K-ON I think it was a very popular anime but it looks very boring from what I've seen. Is there any humor or is it one of those slice of life with super moe characters?

Caught up to episode 4 now and really digging the story, there is actual progression and interesting plot lines! They manage to switch from comedy to serious extremely well. I almost died laughing when Haruna shouted 'Stop, you can't become any cuter!' when Ayumu was charging his Masou-Shoujo powers.

K-ON is a slice of life, like Azumanga and Lucky Star. I found it very entertaining to watch though. It's one of those things you either love or hate I thinks.

That entire episode reminds me of Evangelion, with the AT-field and the whole blood gushing everywhere

K-ON is great, imo. It doesn't really go anywhere drama-wise but watching the girls form a band and figure out what to do with it was fun, not to mention the other hijinks which ensue. The girls' personalities are subtly different from each other rather than screaming cliches (they don't play up the rich girl and tomboy gags NEARLY as much as they could have) and overall the series has a good natural flow to it. It's really cuuuute too.
The dub looks bad... I wonder what they'll do about the songs. If they dub them as good as Pioneer did the Tenchi Muyo songs... nah, no one will ever do that good >.>

I personally hated it. The worst part is I actually couldn't stop watching it due to the cuteness. There are much better Slice of Life anime out there.

Depends on what you like. If you enjoy slice of life series, then K-On is pretty good if you want to see a bunch of girls do everyday activities with some irregular behaviors. I do recommend taking a break between seasons 1 and 2 because you can burn out/bore yourself quickly with those types of series. There isn't a whole lot to it but I liked the episodes where they actually did musical-related things, like buying instruments, taking care of their instruments, going to concerts, playing in their band, etc. I hated scenes where they fed their turtle and ask pastries.

Zombie has been a fun show to watch mainly because I'll read stuff like this and think back and say, "yeah, that was a spoof of that". Some of those spoofs are pretty funny but only if you watched the other anime before. Stuff like when Ayumu asked "do you believe in UFOs" would only be funny if you watched Toradora. I also think the breakdancing was like TK from Angel Beats, although you don't have to know that reference to enjoy something like that.

Nothing major, Shaft have posted some info for the upcoming Kizumonogatari Movie. they want to change Shinobu's voice actress from Aya Hirano to someone else that can pull the expression and tune they looking for.

But yeah, the bitch has like 2 type of voice in her entire career as a seiyuu, and it's not like Shinobu was even voiced during the anime series...AFAIK, the only time Aya Hirano voiced her was when she read the track # on the drama CD.

Did the online petition put out a suggestion who should be the new seiyuu? Regardless of the seiyuu, I'm still looking forward to Kizumonogatari.

As I've said, people either love it or hate it apparently. I couldn't fathom relating it to something as horrible as twilight, but I guess some people just really didn't like it.

Well, I'll reserve commenting on K-On, on the ground that I only watched 1 episode of the entire series.

Hasn't felt that shitty on an episode since Lucky Star ep 1 though, if that's any indication.

It's good, but don't expect much music or you'll be disappointed. If you like funny slice of life, it's one of the best around, otherwise you'll probably not like it (but likely still laugh).

Lucky star was amazing. :3 I gave it a 10/10.
