I didn't mind the ending, the worst part was the month break between that cliffhanger though. Great series I'd recommend it to anyone who likes anime.

Yeah, now that it's finished, it must be nice being able to watch episode after episodes instead of waiting a month for each. One of my favorite series, especially with all the neat characters and their swords.
I do hope they show the 4th episode fight. I remember I was complaining about that back in April ;x
The whole show had an artificial flow to it, not just that episode in my opinion.
Shichika's lack of emotions was part of the reason why everything felt so weird, but it's something I had accepted a long time before. Having a good idea how it would play out (because of shichika, because of of the preview) made the whole thing a lot more dramatic for me.
re: katanagatari
Shichika's emotionless demeanor is what makes the show so awesome. And his personality was long established as someone isolated with a weird concept of death and family members.
Spoiler: show
Last Exile -Fam
Edit
Hidan no Aria
looks like ruff sketches than official character designs.
Character designs.

I agree with you on that. It just wouldnt be the same if Shichika was moping around all the time after killing people. It also made last episode much more meaningful like you said.
Certain scenes were still weird because of this, but I think it added a nice dramatic effect by making it more cruel
About last episode
Spoiler: show
Fuuuuuuu, look like they lolified the character design...Let's hope it's just one character, and not the whole cast that will look like 4 years old.
What's that Last Exile thing? Are they remaking it? Or is there a sequel coming? Is a sequel even possible? Been a while since I watched it but I think things were pretty much ended for good...
I'm about to start Index II, I sure hope the season is as good as the OP was, really enjoyed that.
From the looks it it, a whole new cast for last exile. Also the artist for last exile (forgot his name) did alot loli character designs (didn't the original last exile pretty much have all lolis almsot too?)
also ker where's those "interesting" pics of freezing I heard about![]()
The only "loli" I remember in Last Exile was the kid, no one else really gave of that vibe. But it's been years since I watched.
Yeah, I liked Last Exile because it was very much not your "mainstream" anime with your usual anime characters/personalities. Only loli would've been the actual kid, but I don't remember considering her one, she was just a kid. It was a "serious" anime.
The character designs do look a bit too young for their ages. Al is my favorite imouto ever though so I don't know what to think. I'm hoping it will still have a serious tone and not turn into a moeblob fest like most anime are these days.
...says the guy with a moeblob lolifest for a sig/avatar.
They're definitely moeblobs, but not loli, lol.
Good god the abuse of the term moe, no one knows what it means anymore, I give up. EVERYTHING CUTE = MOE, CLEARLY
Chun and Ibuki have tits so I wouldn't say loli <_< definitely moe. I like moeblob stuff just as much as the next K-on! fan, but that doesn't mean I can't want a good, serious, adventure anime to stick with what it does best and not try to appeal to the masses.
I guess chibi would be the more correct term then, but whatever.
I agree with your point completely though, Last Exile should keep its seriousness and not be like all the other anime.
Ultimate moe:
