X-Men Anime was pretty good. I never saw much X-Men stuff aside from the movies so hopefully it will get more interesting as the story continues.

News: 4Kids Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy (Updated)

Yahoo! Finance is currently reporting that North American media distributor 4Kids Entertainment has filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Companies who file under Chapter 11 are able to maintain business assets, which may or may not include licenses, in order to attempt to reorganize. By contrast, companies who file under Chapter 7 (as Central Park Media did in 2009) cease to function as a business.

The publicly-traded company had previously stated that it might file for bankruptcy protection after TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad Systems (NAS) filed a lawsuit lawsuit over its Yu-Gi-Oh! anime license. The lawsuit accused 4Kids of underpaying the Japanese licensors and of conspiring with North American anime distributor FUNimation Entertainment to hide income from the sale of Yu-Gi-Oh! DVDs in order to avoid paying royalties.

In 2010, 4Kids Entertainment announced that an unnamed third party company was interested in acquiring the copmpany. href="/news/2010-05-10/4kids-reports-3rd-party-is-interested-in-acquiring-it">sold. However, shortly thereafter the company announced a US$3.5 million loss in its first quarter of 2010, and the New York Stock Exchange began the process of delisting the company. No further mention of the potential sale has been made since. Two months later, after more losses in the company's third quarter of 2010, the company's Chairman and CEO, Alfred R. Kahn, resigned from the position.

4Kids currently runs the "Toonzai on CW 4Kids" programming block on Saturday mornings in the United States, and it launched the Toonzaki video-streaming website last September. 4Kids is or has been a licensee for the following properties:

So good. I can't believe how addicting the first episode was. I was glued to my seats the whole time. so satisfyingly tense already, and it was only about beer and food lol. god why is season 2 is only 13 episodes long.....

I know! I just about screamed at the screen when Kaiji kept spending his money. (not that I wouldn't do the exact same thing in his position)

I think the show is going to be longer then 13 episodes. This arc will probably take about 5-8 episodes then they have a really long arc in

So, unless they really cram stuff in or skip a lot of stuff I think it will be 26 like the last season. If your going by ANN they usually lowball the episode count then add extra numbers once they are confirmed.

And this sequence really hit home with me, I'm such a procrastinator.....

the steins;gate game is really popular and highly rated, but i thought it lived up to its hype.
it is a really well written game and i think it's an insult to put this together with chaos;head.
if the s;g anime lives up to even half of what the game is, it'll be good.
i hope they don't screw it up because s;g really deserves a good anime adapt.

after finishing s;g i went and played chaos;head expecting more of the same, and all i got was a generic shonen pile of shit.
i can't believe the two games came from the same company.
btw, chaos;head and s;g have almost nothing to do with each other.

Thank god. All the excitement for steins; gate made me wonder if I was going mad. I thought surely a sequel from the people who made Chaos; Head couldn't be any good. But if they're unrelated, I can see how one could do much better than the other.

Yumekui Merry Ep 13 Final

another show ends. I quit liked the conclusion. Overall I don’t think that Yumekui Merry is anything amazing, but it definitely has its good points and I still enjoyed watching it despite its cliches. I will definitely miss the impressive dream animation sequences.

Maria+Holic Season 2 Ep1

Did Shaft decide they don't give an ass about the animation? this was lazier than their previous stuff. Madoka Magica for 3 episodes that I saw, saved it's budget for some really eye catching and beautiful animation. I guess Shaft will be Shaft.

Animation aside the jokes and dialogue were great. the setting is pretty much the same stuff as always but it's entertaining so I don't mind, especially when I was hoping for second season.

I have to say. Brains Base did an excellent job with the animation. it's impressive and stays true to the Go Nagi spirit and content wise is the same. it's as perverted and crazy as his older stuff. unless you grow up watching his stuff. your better off avoiding this one all together.

4 volumes of the Shakugan no Shana novels have come out since Season 2, plus the couple novels they didn't get to. Should be enough for another cour at least. Need another Zero no Tsukaima season when the novels get ahead again too
