P4 anime is probably going to suck even if they are relatively accurate. The best part about the game was the creepy mood, but that's going to be lost in the adaptation since they need a faster pacing for the TV.

Late but about Fairy Tail :
I stopped watching it a couple months ago simply because of school, I really really like Fairy Tail. The characters are fun and there was a surprising lack of filler (there were maybe 3 eps that seemed like filler out of 70 and they were still good eps). I haven't read the manga, so I don't know how it holds up comparatively, but to me Fairy Tail is definitely worth watching.
Depends on your tastes. Kanon anime tends to be AWFUL unless you like nonstop sentimentality, and it takes a certain mind to get through all of Higurashi. Hasn't stopped either animated series from amassing a dedicated following. Seems anime adapted from visual novel-type games do better than when they're sourced from more conventional games. I can only think of two anime based on RPG games and a handful on fighting games, and most were bad, bad, bad.
P4 is pretty close to what you could see in a visual novel, and some of them have decent adaption. I dont think it will be an issue.
However, the silent main character, the lengthy scenario and the "exploration" segment did help the story considerably P4, and I don't think it will carry very well to a 12 (24?) episodes series.
They would have to skim over a lot of the side character interactions and social links and just focus on the main story - which isn't bad, but the side character thing always comes back at the end of the game during the final boss.
If they keep any social link interactions, Nanako and Dojima have to be shown. I'm also worried that any fighting that goes on will be horribly animated and choreographed.
Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL OP and ED
Fabulous hair
EP1 raw
Even the core, mandatory parts of Persona 4 seem to exceed the scope of a 12-episode series. Most anime don't even let one significant dramatic event happen per episode, to fit a 12 episode season they'd have to triple that and even then they'd cut out every non-investigation team character.
Spoiler: show
It MIGHT fit 24 eps if they slow down the pace quite a bit, but it's a little unsettling to imagine what they'd need to cut to fit into that many eps, let alone 12. I do smile at the decision the show directors will have to make over the events during XMas.
Do any of you have friends with terrible taste in anime that just make you angry to listen to? Friend of mine won't shut up about how AWESOME 'Shin-chan' is and only watches dubbed shit on Netflix. I convinced him to stop being a failure for a brief time and watch TTGL on Netflix, sadly dubbed terribly, and the Kamina death episode didn't load so they skipped it. When I tried to impress how important this episode was he laughed and watched the rest without it. Like, I don't know if I'm an anime snob now but holy shit, I could stand him before but now, I don't know. He also refuses to watch PSG, I remind him periodically to download the batch torrent and he lazily replies he only wants to watch the shit they put on Netflix years after the fact.
Maybe I'm an ass but unless I can fix his terrible taste I might have to kill the friendship.
yeah, I got a friend who used to watch recent/good subbed anime, but now he only watches dubbed stuff from netflix. He doesn't skip around on episode, but I can't even get him to watch TTGL. because he said the small parts he saw looked stupid. Hell, I still can't get him to play ff7 because he said he doesn't like the graphics, yet he plays Minecraft. I don't understand!
While on the other hand, I got a friend who only watched dubbed stuff on AS to watch newer subbed/good stuff, and now he's always telling me about obscure weird anime I should watch but I never do cause it just sounds like crazy stuff.
and then of course there's me, who hasn't really watched any new anime in the past year or 2 cause it all looks like garbage to me with all the loli cutsie slice of life shit flooding the market.
So yeah, eye of the beholder!
Dubbed Shin-chan is hilarious though. Too bad the manga creator died while hiking.
If I had any friends like that, they would pretty much no longer be friends of mine. That would just annoy me way too much.
I do have a friend that likes to criticize every anime I recommend though, and only point out the bad parts.....and then continues watching them anyways.
That's pretty awful.. I can't watch any series out of order, so I don't see how your friend can watch a series while missing an episode, and especially so with Kamina's death. That was arguably the most powerful moment in that series so it just boggles the mind. It's not the best comparison, but it'd be like someone skipping Two Towers and saying they've seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I'm actually struggling to wrap my mind around someone having that kinda mindset..
On an unrelated note, decided to rewatch Big O in hopes of better understanding the out there ending -- even after all these years, didn't help at all. Also, I didn't remember Alex Rosewater being such an immature villain. He seemed like a spoiled child who really didn't match up as an antagonist with Roger being so mature and sophisticated.
It's impossible to understand the last part of that anime lol
And I think that was the point of Alex's character. He just took his father's work.. which wasn't his fathers work...? idk I just saw the last few eps on AS the other week and I still don't really get it lol
All the memories becoming Angel, Big Venus, what exactly old man rosewater was trying to do, the hundreds of Roger Smith clones and all the Bigs, and the very end where apparently everything got reset.
I try not to gauge my friendships based on how they feel about anime...
But I do like it when someone has similar tastes so I can enjoy something with them.
Whenever I try to piece it together, there are just pieces that I can't fit in at all. Specifically, the whole Paradigm is a stage -- not a metaphor, an actual stage aspect, the Roger clones, and the scenes with Angel as a director/writer or whatever and then Roger and Dorothy showing up on that level. If it weren't for those scenes, I think I could piece it together as Gordon hired Roger to negotiate with the being who overlooks the world (Angel/Venus) for whatever reason, but the battle of the Bigs occurred and he ended up dead. In the restarted world that emerged, everyone had no memories and we have the world the story takes place in. At the end, the memories of Big Venus returned to it and Roger attempted to negotiate with it as was his contract and the world was restarted again, hopefully better off. Of course, this doesn't take into account the weird stuff that occurs in the last few episodes such as Dastun's memories being replayed, so I guess that's another flaw...
Skipping a key episode is one thing, watching a series out of order is another.
I watched a lot of show out of order, and I have to say it rarely hurt my enjoyment (in fact, it often has the opposite effect).
It's funny you bring LoTR because I actually started the series with Two Tower. When i got to the first book (after reading 2 and 3), it made me care a lot more for Boromir character knowing that he was going to get killed soon. Instead of a shocking death scene, it was a drama that was slowly unfolding.
