Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

Don't really understand the Denpa Onna hate, the characters are fun and quirky (not straight up typical stereotypes). The story is...well, it kind of lacks one, but that's perfectly okay the way they're playing it. The animation is really slick too. I guess the lack of a cohesive plotline could put some people off but I don't think it's a bad series at all.

My favorite this season is definitely Ano Hana though, it's so fucking goooood. Dog Days would probably take second just because I love that kind of Final Fantasy-esque setting with cute dog and cat people. :3 I have yet to see Kyoani's newest fare, I hope I don't hate it XD

I wonder which section they'd use for the Negima Movie, I'm thinking they're going for manga's magical world arc conclusion movie, but that's gonna be a lot of stuff missing for non-reader since even the Ala Alba OVA hasn't even gotten to Magia Erebea yet, and the overall plot itself isn't really contained within a particular part of the arc.

Guess they'll just make it like UBW or something, and just aim strictly at the core fanbase.

Baka to Test season 2 is a definite watch for me. Might watch Blood-C as well. Beyond that, I'll probably be waiting for recommendations here.

They have SSJ3 Negi in the movie photo, so I imagine it'll cover the Rakan fight at least

I'm watching Maria Holic Alive, Nichijou, and Denpa Onna and I would have to say I find Nichijou to be the best, particularly episode 6. Maria Holic isn't as funny as the first season but I still find myself laughing at some of the jokes, even if they're really dumb. Denpa Onna has been a yo-yo for me, going from nearly dropped to picked up going back to nearly dropped and back to watching again. If it were produced by anyone besides Shaft, it'd be dropped, but I like what they do for certain scenes with their artstyle and direction. The problem I have with the show are the characters but I won't get much into that now.

Actually, my favorite comedies this season (or at least the shows where I laugh the most/enjoy the humor) aren't even comedies. Tiger & Bunny is easily my favorite to laugh at, despite half an episode devoted to serious character stuff/stories/whatever. I love the humor in Steins;Gate but it's clearly second. It does casual humor well (as opposed to Nichijou as a gag anime) and I like the timing of the jokes but the actual material is somewhat dreadful (Daru asking girls to repeat lines and Kurisu calling him a pervert have never been funny). After that I'd put in Nichijou, Maria Holic Alive, and Fireball Charming. After that it's not worth mentioning as comedies but I laugh while watching Ao no Exorcist and Softenni.

Btw, Steins;Gate 7 was outstanding. It really piqued my interest with where the story can go, especially since we're learning the mechanics of time-travel along with the characters.

Seconded. Very interested to see where this all leads. It's a shame there's no English translation of the VN (at least not that I know of).

The picture of Asuna in that costume seem to be implying it'd be far into the endgame though, but whatever, I'm all for animated SSJ3 Negi

Is it just me, or is Amane (the part-timer) just as "special" as Okabe when it comes to changing world lines? She seems to know a lot more than she lets on, and Makise's mere presence disturbs her to no end. She most likely knows she's "supposed" to be dead, or quite possibly was the one who killed her.

She is most likely the one posting under the alias of John Titor, and come from a future destroyed by war (that's why she freaked out when she heard fireworks ). The grudge she hold against Makise is most likely due to her creating a non-jelly time traveling methods at the CERN at some point after the current event.

I liked the scene with the principal vs the deer but... to say it's the best when there's stuff like this in the show. Well, I'm not so sure.
