Anime Thread. [Prob not 56k safe]

Started watching Red Garden (I know old, but found a batch torrent so ) and while I like the style and the story so far, it's absolutely rediculous and hilarious when they start singing. I didn't know Americans sing whenever they're sad or troubled rofl.

I've been proved wrong; they also sing when they're happy. WTF?! It's so fucking funny when they suddenly start singing, I need to clean my monitor...

gundam 00 ep 24 was very sad... 1st time a gundam series makes me sad.The only thing i hope is for that asshole ali al-sacheez to be dead, should have been killed a long time ago.

There's no chance he's dead yet, they didn't put any emphasis on it. When major characters die, they make it painfully obvious; mobile suit completely exploding, pilot shown being vaporized/dying in the cockpit, etc. All we saw was the laser hit his gundams arm than some smoke, and the camera just cut away. Plus when the other throne gundam was destroyed, there was a giant GN particle explosion (looked like a giant firework). There was nothing like that when ali got shot.

Why is it so many animes are against people kissing? I was totally hoping Allen and Lenalee were going to kiss in ep 75. Was a nice episode atleast. : p

Get used to it, most shounen never really have any romantic development That's why for manga I usually stick to seinen since I like stories with romance/drama.

Even though it's going to be like six months away, I can't wait for the rest of the series to see how it all turns out. Feldt becoming a Meister at this point isn't really that far-fetched, I don't think. It would be pretty fucking awesome if she took over Dynames. Then again, gotta remember Lockon still had his brother, didn't he?(or did he die? I never remember). Either way, hats off to this series so far. Easily eclipses many of the previous series.

So a few months ago I heard about Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and downloaded a batch someone posted on this site. For whatever reason, I didn't watch anything after the first episode post-time skip until today. I watched the entire post time-skip this morning up through episode 26...to find out there's an episode 27! WTF!

I just watched Code Geass, awesome anime, I love the concept and the big picture of the world and its basis, I find things like that really neat. Cannot wait for next season to begin, I hate cliffhangers and having to wait, lol.

Currently downloading Baccano! and Cowboy Bebop, for some reason I thought Bebop was a really long anime that had completed already, didn't realize it was only 26 episodes, figure it's a real must watch now, I just thought it'd be like 200+ episodes and didn't feel like doing that again, I already started Naruto, Bleach and One Piece and had like 200/100/300 episodes to catch up on each when I did so, lol...

Anyone have any news on Haruhi season 2? I thought that was coming in 2007? Obviously not, so anyone know for sure when in 2008 it's coming?

I see everyone talking about Gundam, I've never seen a single episode. If I were to want to catch up on Gundam, where would I start and progress? How much would I "need" to watch to get the full effect? Not sure I'm up for watching a huge series which Gundam sure sounds like, but I also think I'm missing something since everyone is talking about it and I've heard if mentioned often.

For instance, Mai Hime and Mai Otome are both anime I really enjoyed, they have pretty much the exact same cast, though it's possible to watch one without ever seeing the other (since they're completely different world/universes/combat styles) but if you watch Mai Hime before Mai Otome (order they were made) you'll enjoy Mai Otome a LOT more. Just wondering if I could pick up Gundam00 without any prior Gundam experience and be fine.

Most gundam series take place in their own universe, so no you wouldn't have to watch any old ones to appreciate 00. If you like mech anime at all thou I would recommend watching some of the older ones as well.

I've never seen any of the past Gundam series besides the really older ones they used to show on Cartoon Network. I'm really enjoying Gundam 00 though.

My bad, haha. I'm half asleep still. Nah, Gundam series tend to take places in different 'Universe' or later in said timeline, but Gundam 00 looks to pretty much have moved away from any of the UC, AC, etc timelines available.

Requires nothing previous of any of the series, however, if you DO like mech anime as someone mentioned above, I'd look into Gundam 08th MS Team, Gundam Wing(possibly), and Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. That's just my opinion, I'm sure others will like different things.

And in response to seeing Hitoru's signature, the last confrontation between Yoko and Kittan is just so very wrong in Gurren Lagann (unless there's more scenes in 27...) Kittan kisses Yoko unexpectedly, apologizes for it. Yoko says "It's something you wanted to do, right? Then there's nothing I could do about it." In regards to the context and topic that is a VERY WRONG thing for a woman to say, lol...

What do people see in 08th MS team that I'm missing? Boring rehashed characters, tired rehashed plot, and crappy animation/action/sound (for when it was made). I would say it's the second worst gundam series I've seen, following GSD, neither of which in retrospect were worth watching.

Theres no background on the gold mobile armor, and then again, theres no background on just who exactly Corner and his family are in relation to Schoenberg. It seems unlikely at this point that they'll even go into it. Its possible that starting the second half of the season that they'll flashback and explain things. I saw the meisters not winning but i didn't foresee so many deaths of such crucial members.

Also they don't make a big deal out of every character's death. Patrick got alot of screentime and just ended up dying with the words "eh?". So its likely sarshes may be done for this part of the series but I'm sure hes not dead yet. Since Setsuna is probably going to still be the lead character and Ali is his protagonist.

Uh, they did show patrick being vaporized in his cockpit, and nothing left of his suit except the legs, that is enough emphasis on it. "Eh?" was a pretty fitting final word for an unimportant comic relief character such as he was.

Oh I know, that comment was directed toward a post last page. I personally don't care I'm more curious as to where Graham will play into this.
