I am 6'7" and I generally date really short girls.

It is real, the streching of the bones, not ala "GATTACA," mind you... They just attach some crazy mechanism (too sleepy to google it ;( but the individual has to twist the gears (is connected to the bones tibia and fibula) a few milimeters a day. One person grew like 5-10 cm in a year! (I'll search for it later). So yeah, even if one is short as long as the person has the riches.

I am jogger and I can imagine that would seriously weaken the bone.. I don't know I'll research it a little.

What you wear has a big impact on how tall you look. I have a tailor who dresses me pretty well and I can pass off for like 5'10 unless I stand by someone you know is 5'10

5'11 or 6' is the arbitrary cut-off in a lot of urban areas (where people tend to have a higher level of education and higher income) for "desirable" men.

I think the reason why a lot of women like taller men is because:

1) It's a security thing, like if they were threatened they feel like a taller guy could take care of them
2) So they can wear their heels when they go out and not tower over their men
3) When you buy a wedding cake, the dude figurine is always taller than the chick.. society kind of reinforces that men should be taller and women should be shorter

Taller women have a much harder time of getting men. In this case it could be a security thing for the guy: he doesn't want to date a woman that is taller than he is, or he feels intimidated by her height, like she will take him to the rack and dunk on him in front of his friends.

For the record, I'm 6'2, and I have empathy for you midgets. I was 5'9 when I graduated from high school and grew another 5 inches while I was in college.

Wasn't there a study published a while back that indicated that salary also had a relation to height? I think it was posted on these boards, but maybe I just heard it on the radio (I hear a lot of BS on that thing). It basically said that for every inch taller than x height someone was, the their salary, on average, was higher by y amount.

Who knows how tall he really is.. I have never seen Brad Pitt in real life and either have most people. Hollywood is an expert on this thing and has perfected the art of making people look taller than they really are and all the rolls that Brad Pitt ever played were at least 6 foot tall.

I am 6 ft. I once dated a girl not too much shorter than me; I guess she was around 5'10''- 5'11''. On our date at a restaurant we were sitting in a booth and I had kinda slouched down a little and she told me to sit up straight so she wouldn't look taller than me. >.>;

I do tend to prefer smaller women over larger ones.
