I'm really leaning towards buying one. My guitar teacher uses one, and I just love the feel of it. Opposed to my Squire Strat anyways.

Schecter has some pretty nice guitars as well. Good bang for your buck.

And Ibanez isn't that bad. Just get the neck tuned and throw some EMG-81s in there.

Active pick-ups are a good cheap way to hot rod a lower end guitar to get a great sound.

It's extremely important what style of music you're playing as well. Just go around town for a few days playing every single guitar you can find. Sometimes people prefer their old used banged up piece of shit over a $2000 guitar simply because it has that certain sound they want.

I don't think they sound THAT bad. But I'm still a guitar newbie so I'm also thinking of just saving up for a nice Les Paul once I'm better. I just love the look of those, and the sound is right for the music I'm aiming for.
