Well it started with this tattoo. I got the idea about 2 years ago. I wanted a cross, and I wanted a wing design across my shoulders. It wasn't a, hey i like that, pick out. I spent awhile trying to figure out exactly how I wanted the winged out bars to look. Ive always wanted a cross on my back, and wanted that exact design to go with the cross. The local artist that worked on it for me, Bradley, helped me design it. The plan was to create an entire back piece from the original design.
This was the base design and original tattoo. Naturally, time and money went to developing it.

Later I finished the back design to this.

At this point Bradley and I were extremely happy with the results. I knew the last piece was going to be on my arm but I did not want to connect the back to the arm.
What I wanted from the arm was a similar theme. When healed, I wanted the theme to match the back, clearly showing the design came from the same base design and artist. Ive only taken a few shots of it right now so its hard to show everything I like about the tattoo from the one shot. My favorite part of the entire design is the doubled up bars that wing out on the back. So for my arm I started with that and brought it down along my arm. There are about 4-5 around my upper arm that circle the arm, then the last, largest one hooks around my elbow across my lower arm.
I can see the lawl tribal, but it really is more important to me then that. Ive spent nearly 2 years figuring out exactly what I wanted, and making it a permanent part of my body. When it comes down to it, its purely art. I have to live with it, so ultimately the only person that has to be happy with the art is myself. That said, Im more then happy. I came up with the idea, and had a broad design, and when put in the hands of a true artist it came out better then I expected.
I didn't stick with a design keeping the appeal of others in mind. I wont say "I dont care what others think" I really do. But as long as I'm happy, thats what matters.
I actually think the design is pretty nice.
I do too, and I hate tattoos.Originally Posted by Charismatic
pretty neat design, might look even better if you put on a few pounds. why didnt you want the arm and back to connect? sounds like it would look pretty cool imo.
Cast magic irl and your tats will glow.
The original plan was to connect them until we got the second part of the back done. After it was healed we both agreed it was perfect. I didn't want to mess with it anymore. I still wanted my arm done, but I changed it from being one large tattoo, to two with similar designs.Originally Posted by tyven
Id agree, it would look better if I gained some weight. Tell my metabolism to slow down for me XD.
Then buff up, get contacts and dye hair a different color.. Then you'll look better with those.Originally Posted by Intense
They just look tacky now, honestly.

If you expect people to be angels on the internet, you should probably leave now. General rule of thumb is to expect to be insulted since there is a sense of anonymity. However, I insulted no one, only offering relatively sound advice.
How I disdain people who can't take advice well. There's a reason it's called constructive criticism.Only trying to help him.
The design is pretty awesome, just get some muscle/fat on that back and it'll look a lot better though imo.
And how is it constructive criticism? you're talking as if it's he can just redo it lol.
Hes being a little bitch imo :]
