Yeah that's the Italian side of my family. My mom's side is Irish, but nobody on that side is a red head either. In fact my cousin from the first picture I posted on the last page is the only one on that side that is a blonde as well. We're the dark Irish.

I like the black (maybe dark blue?) ring in your lip, I mostly wear a stud, but sometimes will wear my ring for a little bit, I only have the plain steel colored ones but I'm looking into getting some colored ones.

Thanks, I like it better than the silvery steel one I had in before.. sometimes I interchange it (it's black by the way .. matches my nose-studs). I have lip-studs but I always end up biting down on the back part of it so I just stick with the rings. You should try a black one.. I haven't seen it on you or anything but I find that it does a lot more for a face than the silver ones do.. on someone who wears as little colour as I do, anyway.

I've tried doing colored or black piercings before, always felt like they look cheesy on me and end up going back to steel and hematite.

Hematite is nice, though! Don't think it would suit me, unfortunately.
I tried a blue nose stud before and immediately removed it, although I have seen it since on others and it looked really cute.. I'm really pale, maybe that's why solid greyscale is the only thing that looks nice >.<

Well, besides getting some black jewelry for my lip, my grandmother suggested (yeah I was pretty shocked when she started giving me suggestions instead of being disappointed in me) that I should try a blue stud for my lip to go with my eyes. I just got a new job so I haven't been able to go shopping for new rings or studs. I think that if a blue ball is too bright that going with blue steel would be a duller more appropriate and pleasing to look at color. But I need to get my ears pierced too.

This is probably the best picture I can find of my stud, it was at a picnic, and we happened to be the winners of all 3 straw hats from a raffle.

Sqwunk I like the lip ring better, a black ring would probably look really good. As far as the stud goes a black one would probably just blend into the facial hair. Blue may work depending on the shade and what you're wearing it with. It's really hard for coloured jewellery not to look cheesy. Dark blue, maybe something like this.

Should have posted this in the fitness fans thread ... or is there a Timmie's Steeped-Tea appreciation thread? It's fitting since I spelled two words 'Canadianly' in a row up there. Can YOU spot them?

I started shaving off my soul patch part of my beard, mostly because you aren't supposed to have hair growing around a piercing. But that's also why I got it there, I can pop a retainer in and it hides in the hair if there is any, and you can't even tell my lip is pierced. I would like to try a horse shoe like you have in that picture but it's hard to find one's big enough to fit into mine. The ring I'm wearing in that picture is the largest diameter 16g CBR they had at the shop.

I agree that if I were to wear a colored ball I would have to match it with my clothing so as to not make it look weird and stick out like a sore thumb.

I have a hell of a time taking rings out though, just cause it's hard to open the CBR far enough to pull out of my lip, of course putting a CBR in is no easy task either (putting the ball in that is) actually sliding the ring onto my lip and through the hole is no problem, but pinching the ring around the ball is quite annoying.

I love your ring though, suits you very well. Do you ever wear a stud in it?

Heh Sqwunk, your grandma reminds me of some of the residents I used to take care of at a nursing home, most of them thought my tongue piercing was pretty because I would wear sparkly balls (god that sounds bad lol) on the bar.

Sqwunk: I need to get a new stud.. the last one I got was too long and I kept biting down on it.. that fucking hurts. I want to get another small bioplast one with a gem at the end.. (link-->)it's like a retainer but with some shine :D I had one before but I misplaced it. I found it a lot more comfortable and better fitting than the metal one I had, and if I ever bit down on it (which I didn't), it wouldn't be painful.
Sorry we're piercing up the thread, guys...
