nice bike, you don't follow advice well though, wear your gear and have good insurance. stay safe.![]()
Think it a YZF 600R. Good all around bike but doesnt come with the big insurance price like the R6Originally Posted by Ace-o-fire
It's a 2005 600r. I've only put in 2 tanks so far and forgot to reset the trip odom., but I'm expecting around 40-45.
I know I know, I didn't go with the R6 though!
Edit: Thanks for the heads up by the way, I appreciate it. I'm pretty safe when it comes to stuff like this, so you won't catch me weaving in and out of traffic or trying to prove myself. I was actually looking at the SV650 but aesthetically, I found the 600r more appealing (actually I do like the naked sv650).
That kid is gonna be a crazy driver later on in life, most kids that age would freak out and not know what the fuck they were doing, lol. She handled it pretty damn well for her age. :OOriginally Posted by Tyche
Honestly a 600r is a better bike than the R6 in my opinion. Never was a fan of the R1/R6. My good friend has a '04 600R. He tops out at 147mph. Think he gets around 32mpg but he likes the throttle. Enjoy your toy.
We were in walmart earlier today, and we put her down to walk beside us because she hates riding in the cart. She literally got behind the cart and started pushing it. Those things aren't light. I looked at my fiancee and said "woot, free college on an athletic scholarship". She imitates really really well. We showed her how to drive the four wheeler and of course she see's us pushing carts. Watching her walk is amazing. I mean, she pushes full size carts around. One thing she is rather slow on is talking. She tries, really hard, but her clarity is very poor. We've been making really good progress with getting her to do sign though.

I had that thing too.

from my experience with my 3 year old daughter single or first born kids are slower on learning to talk specially if you cant afford to have them in a day care around other kids. the next kid will probably start to talk a little earlier as they have a older sibiling that can understand and talk to them more on their level of understanding. my oldest can speak full sentences and clearly knows what SHE and WE are saying but its hard to understand her if you havnt been around her awhile. she is always talking to my new baby though so...just be patient your daughter is doing just fine.Originally Posted by Tyche

How old is she?
Yeah, it is amazing isn't it? There will be so many times that you and your fiancee look at each other in disbelief =P Our daughter is the same way (she is now 4) and she was always just blowing us away with the amount of things she seemed to pick up. Goes to show, your kid is ALWAYS so much smarter than anyone else's =P The talking thing too... i know what you mean. Our daughter wanted to talk so so sooo bad. She just seemed to decide one day to create her own language (sounded like a cross between Japanese and Gaelic...) and would just use that for the longest time. Even when she started pickup up actual words she would still pepper every sentence with her own language. It was fun trnaslating to friends and family since Ky and I could understand her perfectly but no one else could. It pissed her off so much...Originally Posted by Tyche
I don't think J learned how to actually turn any of her vehicles for a good long time. =)
She's goes to the daycare that my fiancee directs. They pair the children by age. 0-1, 1-2, 2-3, etc etc. So she doesn't depend on hearing other children speak (she just moved in with the 1-2 year olds last week when she turned 12 months old). I'm not at home to see her much at all with work and school, but luckily my fiancee pretty much been in the early childhood field since she was 15. She has a degree in early childhood development, so she takes care of most of the teaching. She's advanced well ahead of schedule in just about everything other than speaking. I don't know if the sign language is hindering that or not, as she never really has to speak when she wants water, food, whatever. She just signs it. I just expect that being with her mom who is brilliant at teaching newborns/infants that she'd be reading Madame Bovary by nowOriginally Posted by Demisses

i am not an expert or had any training just going from experience. my cousins oldest is 6 and she still has problems with pronunciation but her youngest is 4 and you can understand him perfectly but every child is different. i HATE how some parents just sit there and compare kids some times.... "my kids is only 13 months old and can turn on the light switch..." "oh yea? well my kid is 8 months old and can tie her shoe laces!" it gets crazy. but there is always a huge amount of pride when you see you kid doing something new and unexpected and seemingly advanced.Originally Posted by Tyche
do yall have her say the words as she is giving the signs? i know even speech impaired usually mouth the words but idk.![]()
Nah, when we started teaching her to sign, we'd sound the words, like, for instance.
If she wanted more of something, food or water, we'd say "More?" while we tapped the tips of all 10 of our fingers together. Kinda like this

We talk to her a ton. We also have 2 dogs and I swear to god she can communicate with them better than us. She'll growl and yell gibberish at them.
As far as comparing kids, my mom and I got into a huge argument over this. My sister has a baby three months younger than mine, and at 7 months old he still couldn't roll over. It wasn't his fault, I wouldn't think he's slow, but I said "you guys need to stop picking that kid up everytime he cries and put his ass on the carpet so he can attempt to do stuff for himself". They'd put him down for "tummy time" so he could try to crawl and roll, but he'd jsut cry and they'd spoil the hell out of him and pick him up. She took that wrong and a 2week standoff ensued.
yea its not his fault. i read recently that kids are starting to skip or learn certian mile stones like crawling and turning over much later because parents are afraid to put them on their tummy because of the risk to SIDS. i can understand why some new parents are always picking the baby up when they cry in the early months but by 5 months and older i was just too tired/busy to constantly pick her up when she cried for attention.
i think its great your daughter knows sign language
I play a taru in-game, but not irl, lol....
