I wouldn't go as far as to recommend that strategy. Like I said, I'd be in MUCH better shape, muscle and body fat % wise, had I watched what I was eating. It can be done, but w/e result you get out of it, just know the results would have been even better if you were eating right. Working out is only half the battle.
That being said, I just got asked this question on ffxiah, so I'll just quote myself from there.
Well, see, the reason I'm so ashamed of that pic is because it's 4 months after I told myself I'd make improvements and made that 1 year pledge.
So that was definitely a low point in my year of "progress". It's not the worst shape of my life, but just during the conditions I let myself get there, bleh.
General workout has 2 "warm up" sets. I only call them warm up sets because I do squats and bench press with lower weight to warm those muscles up, but everything else during the "warm up" are actual workouts and not the warm up.
Weighted pull ups, 8 reps (45-50 lb dumbbell in between my legs)
Dragon Flags till failure
Weighted dips, 8 reps (same weight as pull ups)
Warmup weight squat (generally 135-155 lbs), 10 reps
Warm up weight dumbbell press (30 lb dumbbells), 10 reps flat, 10 reps incline
I get water here and repeat the above for a second time.
Close grip chin up (same weight as pull ups/dips), 8 reps
Squats (245-250 lbs), 8 reps
Flat dumbbell press (70 lb dumbbells), 10 reps
Close grip chin ups (same weight as before), 6 reps
Water break
Squats (245-250 lbs), 8 reps
Flat dumbbell press (75 lb dumbbells), 8 reps
Close grip chin ups (same weight as before), 6 reps
Water break
Squats (245-250 lbs), 8 reps
Flat dumbbell press (80 lb dumbbells), 6 reps
Close grip chin ups (same weight as before), 6 reps
Water
Dead lift (245 lbs), 8 reps
Incline dumbbell press (60 lb dumbbells), 10 reps
Water
Dead lift (245 lbs), 8 reps
Incline dumbbell press (65 lb dumbbells), 8 reps
Water
Dead lift (245 lbs), 8 reps
Incline dumbbell press (70 lb dumbbells), 6 reps

And that's about what I generally do in the gym.
On non gym days, I do running/jogging at home and crunches. Then I bike a lot, but that's for transportation. (In the summer, 30-40 miles/week is standard. During school time, where I'm on campus 4-5 days a week, 70-80 miles/week)
Well I just think CS looks great the way he is. I don't really see a point in working on more muscles because right now it is healthy (I doubt it can get healthier), looks neat and natural.
More muscles will lead people to see you as someone working on his body... So maybe that's the kind of person you want to be seen as and it's ok, but maybe it isn't.
I don't know, I wouldn't like people to think I care about how I look.

I'm trying to cut some more body fat to get my 6pack to show w/o having to flex my abs and just working on strength in general (which has always been my goal, any size that's obtained has just come along with it. The goal isn't rly size though.)
