Did you try the direct live CD?

Or better yet, plug a spare hard drive and do a clean install.

It won't work.. not now and not ever. Anyone that it worked for was lucky. I read up a little on the technical details of it and it is a total joke like everything else from that retarded company.

Also, I googled "Installing Ubuntu 6.10 on Virtual PC 2007" and came up with a guide. Seems you can't install normally.
