Question about skillchain properties...

Alright, common sense told me darkness damage = dark based, earth damage = earth based etc etc... until I saw this.

Notice he's in earth mode (and has been and was for a little while after the SC too, there's no question about that.


Darkness damage did normal damage while he was in dark mode (forgot to SS that but still...) and it did normal dmg in every other mode. (yes, all 7 other elements)

So uhh, is this normal? Is light actually fire damage or something? :[

While I haven't done JoL (or any of them for that matter), Light Skillchain is Fire/Wind/Thunder/Light, and Darkness Skillchain is Dark/Stone/Ice/Water. So in those cases, any of those 4 elements can burst their respective Skillchain.

So, based on what I'm gathering from your statements about JoL works, I'm guessing that because Earth is part of the Darkness Skillchain, he's absorbing it. I'm sure other people will be able to give you a better answer than I though

problem with your theory is he never absorbed it in ice, dark, or water phases. ONLY in earth.

Weird, I'm stumped then, I dunno. Elemental day perhaps? As I said, I'm purely guessing at this point, as I've never done the Jailers, despite having sea.

Maybe the element of the damage done by a level 3 skillchain (assuming this is level 3 not level 4) is based on which side of the SC you close with, i.e. you're closing with gravitation (dark/earth). Although if the SC was the same way around when it was in Dark mode then I don't know what to think.
