    ATI Catalyst Control Centre

Alright well in one ofthe driver updates for my FX card this came along with it. Basically my problem is that when I play Dota or FFXI for long periods of time(2-3+ hours) the program just shuts itself down and totally screws up the game. First it causes major lag then it changes the default settings from 1024x768 to something like 800x600 and the view is just really weird at that point.

Is anyone else having this problem? is there a way to change the settings so it won't do this? Or is there a way of shutting it down so it doesnt load onto my computer when I boot up.

    I doubt it's a driver issue...

I'd clean out the dust bunnies in your case, and also pay attention to the video card's core temperature.

If it were a driver issue, use rollback or system restore to go to the previous install.

    Wait Catalyst actually closes?

Thats really odd. My Catalyst control center is on at all times, or at least it stays in the task bar.

First thing I'd do is make sure I have the most up to date version of Catalyst. Then maybe try uninstalling it and seeing if you can run the graphics card without the control center (it should work just you don't get all the options)

Another thing I've done in the past is to take off my PC's case and put a fan on it >_>; its ghetto looking but if its really hot outside sometimes I gotta resort to that.
