yeah kanican.livejournam.com is chock fuill of fascinating material that is just rife with how to pop and farm extensivelty in sea, inciuding the ix'aerns.

with this, my goal frequently is to farm stuff that is particularly difficult to do in a time efficient manner. and one of the most efficent ways of doing this is to pop and kill the placeholders for Jailer of Temperance solo on black mage.

while doing the first several attempts, i learned that i could traverse all 5 towers, pop and hold temperence, in the span of about 45 minutes(i don't have gaiters. im sure i could have it down to 30 minutes with gaiters). but my biggest difficulty has been holding the jailer in the fashion recommended in her livejournal. i think my personal record of 'pinning' was about 5:40 minutes. what was've found to be siignificantly more useful as been to break the party that's holding, and you run to the nearest teleport or zone... for example, i, in a sick decision decided that i would farm ghrah chips while practicing getting through the zone and popping temp. when he popped(first pop lol, taru tower), tradtionally, i would've used ele seal grav to get him into position, and then pinned accordingly, and if i'd made any sort of mistake, poof, dead elvaan.

so what i did this time, which worked incredibly well, was to pop him in the south west tower, ele seal gravity and started running. when he popped, i spammed in ls. elph, on myrla on bard, tele'd to mea and picked up luk, our tank. while they were en route, what i did was grav, and then run and zone. we disbanded the party, and took turns gaining hate and zoning(if JoT's attacks hit shadows, they do not event interrupt, allowing you to zone.

so for literally 20 minutes, myrla, luk and i took turns claiming temp, and zoning into the main antechamber to rebuff and continue holding. that allowed two other tanks, two other red mages and a blu mage time to gear up and arrive, at which point we fought it straight up, with a deathless, very clean fight.

my next challenge will be finding safe places in the other 4 towers(mithra and hume being fairly easy to get to for support) to be able to grav > zone > elegy > zone > flash > zone cycle that worked so exceptionally well for us today.

unfortunately, temperance is a whore, so all we had to show from a really cool, really clean fight was the first virtue and the axe.

You should really toss dots on temp while holding, Bio 2 and Poison 2 will do 1% every 45 seconds (duo'd it last night
