There isn't just a single mindset of a criminal. Criminals do one of two things, act on impulse, or plan and plot. In the VT case, the crime was very obviously a pre-mediatated attack that was going to kill many many people whether it was with a gun or not. Gun was the most easily accessible.

This guy got a gun went in and shot a lot of people ( one of which my fiancee and some friends knew fairly well... and finding out other friends new others... ) but anyways, so he shot these people.

Now he planned to do this, there probably isn't much that coulda been done to stop him, and he was completely intending to do this.

Now another version. So he wanted to go in and kill his girlfriend or whoever, like the above version. But this time he just made it simple, and easy. An asian with a very large jacket ( its cold, windy and snowing so it wouldn't be out of place ). So this asian walks in... couple seconds or minutes later 100+ students get blown up... yeah... Im trying to think which is better... oh yeah...

The problem is not weapons, its us, we as a group. Not just the crazyies... its everyone... I mean come on... we are fucking killing each other over things like this... oil... land... right to having a nation... right to keep their nation... hell even cause you are just different from whoever... instead of standing up saying make guns illegal, or something similar, that ain't gonna happen, or help much... maybe we should focus on things... like not hating everyone, or hating people for all sorts of reasons...

wearing a bulleptproof vest, shoot people in one side of the campus then move to the opposite side to continue and choosing targets cannot be considered as a rampage.. all his actions point to cold-blooded premeditated thinking of his actions. This guy was concious of what hes doing.

If he woulve gone on a true rampage he would've just grab the gun and shoot anything that was near him. Imo the media is just using that word innapropriately.

Did you stop right where you ended the quote, because i think it was evident that my stand on gun cotrol laws are that they would essentially be useless (not to mention that abolishing the 2nd ammendment will never happen). I said the only reason he used a gun(s) is because it is a hell of a lot easier to get a hold of, than, let's say making bombs. Gun laws or not, anyone dedicated and meticulous enough will find a way to carry through with what they wish to accomplish, whether it be with a gun, bomb, or whatever else anyone calous enough to pull something like this can think of. Also, if you think this wasn't pre-meditated, and just some random act of violence, explain to me where you would randomly stumble upon a bullet proof vest, chains and locks, and a genuine understanding of school security.

I've seen no reports of him wearing a vest. No reports of any choice in targets and in fact the reports all point to it being random shit. The person in the dorm shootings was supposedly in custody which is partly why they didn't lock down the campus. Later the Engineering building gets hit and he runs into one school classroom and starts shooting in there, once that room was done he reportedly shot pretty much anything else that he came in contact with.

I have a friend who's daughter goes to VT and was in the engineering building when the shooting occured. She was on a different floor, thankfully.

She told her dad it was an Asian kid. He was upset that his girlfriend had been cheating on him with some guy who supposedly was in the engineering building. He didn't know who, so he starting shooting people. Supposedly, the first dorm he went to was where she was staying. From what I heard, he killed her, then went to the engineering building.

He had a bullet proof vest and a load of ammo. He was carrying two 9mm handguns and this is what he used.

He also chained some of the exit doors.

Go check Fox News and read the story they say almost exactly that. It was an international student. Kind of narrows down the possibles for the students if they knew who the Chinese exchange students were and which one is missing. Not going to do much by trying to keep it secret. I give it a day before the name is released either through rumors or officially.

And LOL that I come back to this thread after 5 hours and see people still arguing over gun control.
