VA Tech Shootings: 32 + 1 Dead (Mourning Thread)

I lived in West AJ when I was on campus and I had a class or two in Norris Hall, actually.

It is quite odd that these two things happened at both places with such a time gap in between.

This lunatic obviously had his switch flipped and just went crazy.

When I first read about this on CNN I was under the assumption that it was being done with a rifle, sniper-style.

So this guy was just walking around with a handgun murdering people, and no one took him down? Or was it a semi-automatic weapon or what was the deal here? CNN is slow with the details.

Virginia Tech police have confirmed 22 fatalities resulting from the campus shootings today. The gunman has also been confirmed dead.

Three people were escorted out of Norris Hall by police. The three were handcuffed, separated, questioned, unhandcuffed and then canine teams were sent into Norris Hall said junior computer engineer Nick Saunders who watched the events unfold from the the second floor of Randolph Hall.



Doesn't look like the 3 were more than apprehended and questioned. unless they are still being detained.

There had to be more to his decision to go to Norris Hall. While it is an engineering building, it is not THE engineering building. VT has several buildings that house engineering classes. So either the shooter knew his girlfriend had class at that time, or he doesn't know what the hell he's doing. And if he knew that she had a class, then he probably found her. I heard a rumor that it was a student from Radford. If that is the case, it would make sense why he just randomly went to an engineering building.

Apparently, the shooter's girlfriend had just broken up with him. She was an Engineering student. He first went to a dorm and did some damage and then went over to Norris Hall, the Engineering building, and did even more.

He lined people up in the classroom and shot them execution style.
